Amy Hoes’ Showcase Home Group at eXp Realty keeps growing, with her daughter Atalie Hoes now an official member of the team

The newest member set to join the Medina-based Showcase Home Group at eXp Realty shares a lot with its founder and leader, Amy Hoes—ambition, drive, enthusiasm, and DNA. Meet her daughter, Atalie Hoes.
After graduating from Medina High School in 2020, Atalie went to Bowling Green State University and continued to help her parents, Amy and Kurt, with photography and administration duties for the team.
“She’s literally grown up in the business and we couldn’t be more excited for her to join us as a full-fledged real estate agent,” says Amy, who has been in real estate the past 18 years. “She finished all of her classes a couple weeks ago and is currently studying to take the test.”
Looking back on her long and successful career, when asked what advice Amy would give in hindsight to herself starting out, it would be to stay ahead of trends and modern technology.
“Our decision to move to eXp Realty two years ago was the best one we ever made,” she says. “It’s consistently rated the fastest-growing real estate company in the world. Being an internet-cloud-based operation with intelligent systems and automated tools makes all the difference to home buyers and sellers, and our overall effectiveness as real estate agents. We network and actively collaborate with agents all over the country and the world to get an insider’s perspective on trends that are emerging and have not yet hit Ohio.”
Atalie joins a group that’s in fast-paced expansion mode. Showcase Home Group has welcomed it’s 29th agent this month, with a goal to add more this year.
“She’s already well versed in our team tagline: Personal service. Modern systems. Proven results,” says Amy. “We’ve grown our business by focusing on the ability to connect with more buyers and sellers in our area than other companies. Our viewpoint in business and in life has always been that the only constant is change. We look far down the road for the changes that lie ahead and position ourselves to meet them.”
Heading into Fall
“Over the years, I’ve experienced the full gamut of market conditions,” says Amy. “I made it through the challenges of 2008, when there was a flood of homes on the market and falling home values, to the past few years, in which we’ve seen a shortage of homes for sale and rising home values, creating a sellers’ market. This summer things have loosened up a bit and there are more homes coming onto the market, which is positive.”
Kurt, who runs the numbers for the team, reports it has already sold more homes in 2024 than all of 2023.
“One condition we’re seeing this summer, that we haven’t the past 10 years, is people putting their homes on the market due to financial necessity,” she says. “If you look at the macro picture, nationally the rise in inflation and cost of living is causing people to have lower savings and higher credit card debt.”
Expanding Into Florida
“Atalie couldn’t be joining us at a better time,” says Amy. “To expand our operations and offer our clients in Northeast Ohio a trusted partner in finding second homes, retirement homes and investment homes, we made the decision to grow our business into Southwest Florida, especially areas around Naples and Marco Island. We’re already very familiar with the market there and the opportunities open to home buyers.”
