With dramatic changes happening in the world of HVAC equipment, now might be the best time to give S&S Heating, Cooling & Sheet Metal a call to weigh the options

Celebrating its 35-year anniversary, S&S Heating, Cooling & Sheet Metal has earned a reputation for quality work and honesty. After all, to be in business for three decades you must be doing something right.
“We take pride in all the positive reviews we have had over the years and our good reputation in the community,” says Mark Staron II of S&S Heating, Cooling & Sheet Metal, a company his parents, Mark Sr. and Gayle, founded in 1989.
The company has been at the forefront of all the changes in the heating and cooling industry over the decades, helping educate homeowners and offering the most advanced technology.
“Currently the R-410a refrigerant is being phased out as government regulations take effect,” Mark explains. “Manufacturers will not be able to make any new HVAC units using this refrigerant after the end of the year. However, there will be replacement refrigerant available for many years and we will be able to service these units.”
What does all this mean for homeowners? You can buy these A/C units for a significant savings while they are in stock, because when the manufacturers must retool their manufacturing process to produce new models, that cost of research and development trickles down to the consumer.
“When the new air conditioner models hit the market next year, they are rumored to cost 20 to 40% more, so if you are thinking about buying a new air conditioner now is the best time,” Mark says. “We should have these units in stock through the end of the year, depending on the manufacturers’ inventory.”
Heading into fall, when homeowners get their furnaces cleaned and checked, they are typically only thinking about their furnaces. This year they should also consider their long-term cooling needs.
“Oftentimes homeowners install both a new air conditioner and furnace at the same time if one has to be replaced,” Mark says. “If you can do both at once, there is a significant labor savings instead of doing one this year and then another one in following years.”
“Sometimes new technology might not work well with older furnaces, which will force you to replace both,” he adds.
S&S Heating and Cooling works with homeowners and business owners to make sure they make an informed purchase by sorting through the maze of HVAC equipment on the market. “We install high- efficiency products that use less energy, which results in lower utility bills,” Mark says. “We offer the best-selling Trane line along with secondary product lines to fit everyone’s budget.”
