While the real estate market may be changing, eXp Realty’s Amy Hoes is boasting sales 26 percent higher than last year
By Patricia Nugent
When Amy Hoes moved to eXp Realty last year, it was a bit of a gamble—but one that’s paid off.
The company was just starting to emerge as the fastest growing brokerage in Northeast Ohio. Now it is a real presence.
Amy reports that eXp Realty is #1 independent in the country, with over 397,000 transaction signs up in 2022.
“We think of the state of Ohio as a time machine,” she says. “To gain an edge, we wanted to be among the first to get a foothold. For us, eXp Realty is the perfect combination of a company culture where modern technology and real, old-fashioned customer service meet. This platform helped us outproduce the competition, especially through shrewd marketing systems and spending more on smart social media campaigns.”
Amy’s husband Kurt keeps all her stats.
“A look at the spreadsheet of home sales volume in Medina County shows that the market might be quieter and slower now than it was a year ago, but not for my team,” she says. “Overall in the first four months in Medina County, compared to last year, the sales volume dropped by 18 percent. But my sales volume is actually up by 26 percent. We simply refuse to participate in a slow market. Now is the time to be in growth mode.”
She explains that though interest rates will probably rise again, and inflation is a consideration, home values locally are not dropping.
Best Team Ever
“I really cannot say enough about the cohesive team I have in place right now,” says Amy. “These ladies are amazing. The current group of 11 is stacked with industry veterans, as well as those who are newer to the profession. I’m beyond proud of their hard work and the success they’ve achieved.”
She says that daily collaboration has heightened the level of customer service their clients appreciate.
“We stay true to our goal of making the home-selling or buying experience simple and stress-free,” she says. “We are pushing forward full steam ahead.”
A Real Gem
Amy’s new listing on Elmer Way in Medina is a good example of the type of homes she sells. Nestled on a quiet cul-de-sac, it has loads of sparkle and charm. Built 2021 and meticulously maintained, it sports three spacious bedrooms and bathrooms and a three-car garage, along with a paver patio, outdoor kitchen, deck and stone firepit. There’s plenty of space to gather around the expansive island in the open-concept kitchen. With all the lawn maintenance and snow removal done for you, this home is a steal at $525,000.
Should You Stay or Go?
“For people who have locked into a low interest rate and think they should stay put, I hope they consider that the rate might go up from here,” says Amy. “A year from now where we are might feel low. You just don’t know what the future holds. My advice is, if you need a bigger home, or it’s time to downsize, be open-minded and not dictated by an interest rate. With the low number of homes on the market, if you find a dream home, pull the trigger and put yourself in it.”
Over the years, as their son and daughter, Atalie and Bryan, have gone through Medina’s schools, Amy and Kurt have been huge supporters of the schools and sports teams.
“We’ve always put our charitable dollars into local, hometown causes,” she adds.
