Whether to slow the aging process, eradicate acne or eliminate skin cancer, Trillium Creek Dermatology specializes in caring for skin
By Laura Briedis
When you meander down the long drive and through the front doors of Trillium Creek Dermatology’s flagship office in Medina, every detail is designed to make you feel calm and at peace in a busy clinic. From the feng shui interior design to the attentive staff, the patient-centered focus is at the forefront.
And when new offices opened in Brunswick, Wadsworth and Wooster—and now Strongsville—these same guiding principles were implemented across all locations.
“We see almost 100,000 patients a year, and many of them come from hours away, so we now have five offices to make it more convenient,” says Dr. Helen Torok, who founded HMT Dermatology in 1978 and then renamed it Trillium Creek Dermatology after moving the practice from Akron to Medina in 2003. It’s located on a 20-acre property that was speckled with trilliums and a creek running through the middle.
“As a community-centered dermatology practice, we offer more personalized care,” she says. “We have had a footprint in the community for over 40 years and are committed to the community and the patients living here. We not only support patients but also the greater community, including schools, sports teams and other organizations. As a family-owned business, which is not owned by a private equity group or big hospital, we are focused on our patients’ well-being and offering cost-effective treatments.”
From general dermatology to specialized Mohs surgery to cosmetic treatments, Trillium Creek Dermatology is an all-encompassing medical center.
“We take a team approach and collaborate with each other as all our providers have different specialties,” says Dr. Matthew Reedy, who joined the practice five years ago. “We are all rooting for each other to succeed and, ultimately, for the patient to succeed.”
“We use the most up-to-date technology and therapies in combination with prescription medications to improve a patient’s well-being,” he says.
“We are very aggressive when treating and healing chronic diseases, such as severe eczema and psoriasis,” adds Dr. Torok, who has authored numerous articles in medical journals on skin disorders and serves on the Advisory Editorial Board of Dermatology Times. “We have all the latest biologic products in our office and can give patients free samples.”
Trillium Creek Dermatology also has its own dedicated Mohs surgery center, which is adjacent to the 30,000-square-foot dermatology center in the Medina office. The physicians and nurse practitioners also perform skin cancer screenings in all five locations.
Working 40-plus years in the dermatology field, Dr. Torok has no plans to retire. She says it is so gratifying helping others. In fact, the practice is expanding. Next month it is opening an office in Strongsville.
Dr. Torok says, “I want to see all our patients happy and thriving.”
Local Skincare Line Garnering Accolades
When Oprah chooses something as one of her favorite things, you know it has to be special.

Created by a dynamic mother-daughter duo, HH Science is named after Dr. Helen Torok and Heather Funk, who created their own skincare, haircare and makeup lines available in all of the Trillium Creek Dermatology offices and online at HHScience.com.
Since it was launched in 2003, HH Science has attracted a loyal following of skincare aficionados and has garnered accolades everywhere from Oprah Daily to Woman’s World and Yahoo.
Offering clinical strength and clean solutions for healthy and radiant skin and hair, the extensive product line ranges from moisturizers and exfoliants, to foundations and tinted lip balms, to follicle stimulating serum and headache relief balms.
