When you’ve curated an exceptional flooring, kitchen and bathroom remodeling experience, you get one-stop shopping at Kiba Studios

MDG Flooring America offers something for its longtime customers they can’t pull off the shelf just anywhere. For them, reliability and trust are the family-operated showroom’s signature brands.
For over two decades, MDG Flooring America has served customers in its 5,000-square-foot showroom in Medina whenever they needed to upgrade their carpeting, hardwood, laminate, tile, or luxury vinyl tile (LVT), earning a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy retailer and contractor.
The addition of Kiba Studios last year extended the company’s commitment to meeting the needs of its customers and its dedication to quality workmanship when the time comes to refresh the kitchen, renovate the bathroom, or replace the floor.
“We’re part of a co-op, not a franchise,” says Scott Powers, vice president of sales for MDG Flooring America. “As part of the co-op, we’re the world’s number one purchaser of flooring.”
MDG belongs to a 500-store-strong nationwide cooperative.
“While we can use our buying power to offer prices as good or better than the big box stores, we offer the pricing with an added personal experience. They can’t match our selection of carpet types and other flooring options that access to our vast network gives us, and we carry higher-quality products. What really makes the difference, though, is we treat our customers like friends,” he shares.
Scott speaks from experience. Before he worked at MDG, he was an MDG customer, working as a contractor. A willingness to make a connection and communicate at every stage of a project was something that drew him to MDG over other suppliers as a company he could rely on and trust.
“We get to know our customers and their needs,” he says. “We walk them through the whole process, handling all the pieces and parts, from front to back.”
From the onset, MDG has sought to build on long-term relationships to deliver a singular experience.
“Last year, we teamed up with Kiba Studios, a partner in the co-op, with a line of kitchen and bath products that complements the flooring side to give people a one-stop-shopping experience, along with our team of experienced designers and installers,” Scott says.
The brawn and beauty Kiba Studios is known for couldn’t come at a better bargain at the Kiba sale, going on Thursday, June 15, to Monday, July 31.
“Within the last year, we expanded,” Scott says. “We have a dedicated bathroom showroom and increased the square footage of our display flooring. We have tons of backsplashes, tiles and mosaics.”
MDG boasts a wide yet curated selection in its showroom that’s far from ever feeling like walking through a warehouse.
“White kitchens are still popular and will probably never go out of style. It’s a timeless choice, but we are starting to see more and more woods,” Scott says. “We’re starting to see raised panel cabinetry come back. For a while, it was all Shaker. On the bathroom side, paneled showers are replacing tiled showers. Instead of traditional individual tiles, you have a full sheet of cultured marble with no grout lines, so it looks nice and is easy to clean. Luxury vinyl is replacing cold tile as the flooring choice. You can’t even tell the difference anymore—it looks that good.”
MDG has long-standing relationships with every installer its customers invite into their homes.
“When you’re buying into a contractor to do the work, you want good communication. You want to know they’ll be there when they’re supposed to be there, and you want to know they’ll be there afterward,” Scott says. “If you hire just anyone you come across on social media or off the street, you don’t know if they will be around in a couple of months. If you go to a brick-and-mortar store with 22 years of experience, you know we’ll be there. We stand by our work.”
