When it finally wakes up from a long winter’s nap, will your lawn make a comeback?

Even if weeds, clover and crabgrass have taken over, your grass can make a stunning comeback this spring—as long as it’s handled properly.

“The spring fertilizer application is the most important one of the year,” says lawncare expert Correy Petz, owner of EverGreen Turf Solutions. “Feeding it properly at the first sign of spring, and before anything that isn’t grass has time to germinate, will set your lawn up for success this growing season.”

But it’s not enough to grab a bag of something from the big box store, fill your spreader and take a mid-morning fertilization walk. For best success, crafting a lush, green lawn is an exercise best left to the pros. Here’s why.

“We customize our lawn programs from year to year and season to season,” Correy explains. “Some springs see more rain while others have less rain. Some summers are hotter and drier than others, while this past summer was cooler. We adjust our programs and products to the changing weather patterns to get the most out of our lawns.”

Fertilization, Correy says, isn’t a once-and-done process. To really help your lawn step up its game, a five- or six-time schedule is best. “We can tailor a program to meet both the needs of your lawn and your budget. It’s important to note, however, that only by regularly feeding your lawn a proper diet can you expect to see change. And the fertilizer we use can’t be found in the store. This is a pro-grade product.”

If you miss a step in the process, you can expect crabgrass in the spring, weeds in the summer and chickweed in the fall. And who you depend on to apply the nourishment your lawn needs can make all the difference.

EverGreen Turf Solutions never cuts corners on the quality of its fertilizer. EverGreen’s five-step program regularly trumps the box company’s six- or seven-step program.

“We know people price shop, but it’s important to know that price isn’t the only factor to consider,” Correy explains. “If you aren’t getting a quality application, you’re just throwing your money away. We don’t cut corners just to be cheaper.”

Correy offers a free estimate, and now is the time to give him a call so you can get your first fertilizer application in before the weeds start their annual assault.

“I’ve found that our friendly, knowledgeable, personable service really stands out,” Correy says. “And we genuinely want your lawn to look as good as you want it to. We want to be ‘the’ lawn guy, not ‘a’ lawn guy. Our goal is to have your lawn looking like the best on the block.”

“My family and I live in Medina. I grew up in Strongsville and my wife, Sarah, grew up in Brunswick. We’re very involved in the community,” Correy adds. “My customers aren’t just customers. They’re my friends and neighbors.”

Sons Jackson, 9, and Logan, 8, round out the Petz crew.

“We charge a fair price for a quality job. Period,” Correy says. “We’re not always the most expensive, and we’re not always the cheapest. We don’t offer a one-size-fits-all pricing structure and we do use the highest quality fertilizer available.”

“When you’re considering where to spend your money on fertilizer, it’s important to compare apples to apples,” Correy suggests. “Do they charge extra for things that we offer standard? Do they use a top-quality product? Is their service tailored to the customer? Are they competitive on price? Could you be paying less?”
