Uncle Spike’s Pizzeria is Home of the Mega Calzone

Celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, Uncle Spike’s Pizzeria has built its business by serving some of the tastiest—and biggest—pizzas in town.

“Our sheet pizzas have 32 slices and our mega calzones can feed up to eight people,” says Mike Hutnik, who named his pizzeria after his uncle who introduced him to the art of cooking and baking. “Typically when ordering pizza, it is for a family meal or party, so our sizes are larger than most. Our smallest pizza is the size of most other restaurants’ medium pizza.”

“I have always loved cooking and now I enjoy sharing my passion with families in Aurora and the surrounding communities,” he says.

Whether planning a tailgate party, date night, children’s birthday party or just a family meal, you can build your own pizza by selecting from 18 toppings or order one of the dozen specialty pizzas.

“Our most popular is the BBQ Chicken Pizza, layered with barbeque sauce, grilled chicken, bacon and onion and then topped with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses,” Mike notes. “We also added a Spicy Beef Nacho Pizza for that something different.”

In addition to pizzas and calzones, the menu features sub sandwiches, wings, quesadillas and cheesy bread.

“Everything we make is fresh—from our dough we make every morning to the local cheese we use to top all our pizzas,” says Mike. “We always try to source our food items locally.”
