The doctors and counselors at Medina’s Whole Body Health clinic have just unveiled their new Medical Weight Loss Program aimed at stimulating the body at its cellular level.

“When a patient’s energy is low and they’re struggling with weight, that means their cellular energy is low,” says Dr. Tim Weeks, owner and founder of the fully integrated medical and holistic practice.

“Stress depletes our cells of energy. Lifestyle factors, such as lack of oxygen from a sedentary lifestyle, emotional stress and diets low in nutrition, are creating weight gain, low energy and disease.”

He also points out what anyone who has yo-yo dieted knows: That starvation and severe calorie restriction don’t work, in fact they often make you heavier in the long run.

Keeping Your Cellular Fire Burning
“Think of your cells like 20 billion small fires,” says Dr. Tim.

“Fires need fuel and oxygen to burn, right? At Whole Body Health, we choose to build up cellular energy by supplying that through diet, laser acupuncture therapy and EWOT (exercise with oxygen therapy). By improving cellular function, we increase the body’s energy, boost metabolism and promote weight loss.”

During an EWOT session, the patient rides an exercise bike while breathing in pure oxygen from a nearby tank.

“Professional athletes have been known to do this therapy as it improves performance by ridding the cells of toxins,” says Dr. Tim.

Since it takes about a year to reach the maximum cellular function, the doctors decided to make the program membership based, with easy monthly payments.

What You Can Expect

  • At your first visit, you are tested to find out what your cellular energy is. At this point, the team will also diagnose allergies, heavy metal burdens, infection, structural alignment issues and nutrient needs.
  • Then the doctors prescribe supplements and suggest a diet. They usually see patients every other week after that.

“During the span of the program, which includes 24 visits with a nurse for diet counseling, the laser acupuncture treatments, EWOT and updating Phase I and Phase II of the nutrition program every three months, the body is moved into fat-burning mode,” he says.

The new Medical Weight Loss Program joins a host of other services to help people live healthier lives through functional medicine, including chiropractic care, trigger point injections and Medina’s only health food store.

From grass-fed beef and dairy to snacks, supplements, sprouted grains, spices and essential oils, the store offers anything you’d need to get your nutrition on the right track.

Meet the New Doctors

Whole Body Health is ushering in the new year with two new doctors joining the world-class team of multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals: Dr. Matt Marr, a chiropractor, and Dr. Alphonzo Monzo III, a naturopathic doctor. The gentlemen came from nearby clinics in Wadsworth and Medina, respectively.

For the past 10 years, Dr. Alphonzo has studied the bio-electromagnetic systems of the body. With a reputation as a lecturer and researcher, he is also an expert with laser acupuncture therapy, which stimulates the body’s acupuncture points via the BioLight PTL II low-level laser.

“I feel like a detective, seeking out the root causes for a patient’s problems,” he says.

Dr. Matt graduated 10 years ago from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa.

“My favorite part of the job is when I see a patient who was skeptical, and maybe a little grumpy, have an ‘aha’ moment when they realize how well our treatments work,” he says.

Whole Body Health is located at 4483 Weymouth Road in Medina. Some services may be covered by insurance, but certain rules apply. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. For more information, call 330-764-3434 or visit WholeBodyHealth.org.
