Anderson Heating, Cooling & Plumbing in Mentor is dedicated to the comfort of those living on the East Side for a reason. This HVAC and plumbing company that started in founder Roy Anderson’s Madison garage more than 40 years ago has expanded, but not beyond the community it serves so well. Anderson will usually get a service technician to your home the same day and almost always with the part needed for repair right on the truck.

“We’ve made a conscious decision not to spread our wings too far and thus too thin in terms of the area we serve,” says service manager John Gregorio. “With the number of trucks in our fleet and the service techs we have on the job, we’ll almost always get to you the same day.”

Now that’s a bold statement for an HVAC and plumbing company. We all know the heat goes out on the coldest day, AC on the hottest, and all usually on a holiday. That’s Murphy’s Law, right? With Anderson, someone always picks up the phone and will be there when those breakdowns happen. But John says the best way to prevent those unexpected, always inconvenient breakdowns is to maintain your systems.

“It’s the best advice we can give,” John says. “The maintenance program means we take a good look at your systems twice a year, change filters, and make sure everything is operating properly with no signs of issues. We can anticipate potential problems and service them before a breakdown.”

“This analysis can save lives,” John says. “We do a combustion analysis on every system we service to check for carbon monoxide emissions, but having it checked twice a year as part of the program offers customers peace of mind.”

All gas appliances emit trace amounts of carbon monoxide which is odorless, colorless and can be deadly. Cracks in pipes or hoses can cause more to leak into the air and go unnoticed.

“Every truck has an analyzer aboard at all times,” John says. “This is unusual. Most companies have just one that’s passed around because they are very expensive. We chose to make the investment.”

Always Prepared
From navigating inclement weather in the snowbelt to making sure they are prepared for every call, Anderson technicians are trained in all aspects of servicing their customers.

Bob says trucks are stocked with more than 400 parts and technicians strive to service 85% of all calls right off the truck.

“If they do need a part from the warehouse, we’re not far away so they can still offer same-day service,” Bob says. “Just one more reason why we service homes in the surrounding areas better than anyone else.”

“In this building, we have hundreds of years of experience in this industry,” Bob says. “No matter what the problem is, someone here has seen it and solved it.”
