Specializing in timeless design in kitchen and bathroom renovation, Daveron Design + Build by Daveron Builders LLC was founded in 2003 by friends and contractors Dave Mullet and Ron Eddy.

Unlike most companies, Dave and Ron are totally hands-on and present at each job site, doing much of the work themselves. To lend the creative direction, clients put their trust in Lead Interior Designers and Project Managers Katie Capek and Sarah Simpson.

Amish Craftsmanship
One of the things Dave and Ron have in common is an appreciation for impeccable craftsmanship. This is most evident in their solely offering custom build Amish cabinetry made in Middlefield.

“Since every aspect of the cabinet is made to order, people get exactly what they want, every color, size and shape,” says Dave. “And since it’s all orchestrated in-house, the lead times are shorter than going with traditional cabinets. Ours still take weeks to come in, just not as many weeks.”

Amish craftsmen have extremely high standards about the high quality of the lumber they work with, from maple and oak to hickory and alder.

“With state-of-the-art fabricating machinery as well as work done by hand, the woodworkers can create any style, from a rustic barn door to modern cabinets,” says Katie, who says they often take clients to the Middlefield shop to make their selections. “And if there’s ever an issue or adjustment with cabinets once they get to the job site, that can quickly be addressed.”

She notes the Amish craftsmen have extremely high standards about the high quality of the lumber they work with, from maple and oak to hickory and alder.

“Another nice component of partnering with a custom Amish cabinet shop is that if people want things like furniture, such as barstools or a credenza to match their cabinetry, these folks can easily design and create those,” says Katie. “Even with the millwork and trim for doors or crown moldings there’s room for creativity, which people love.”

With Daveron Design + Build, every aspect of the cabinet is made to order, so you’ll get exactly what you want, every color, size and shape.

Mastering the Consultation Process
Each job begins with Katie and Sarah going to the home and meeting with the homeowner to get a handle on the kind of renovation they are dreaming about.

These ladies are seasoned in the field, and both have degrees in interior design. They will ask many questions about the functionality of each space and do a lot of listening. Then they go back to the Painesville showroom and work on designs and CAD renderings to present to the client.

“After that, we invite them here to our showroom, to view CAD drawings of their space and make selections of materials,” says Sarah. “Clients appreciate that we offer one-stop shopping as in-house designers. We can control every part of the process so it goes smoothly. Because we are interior designers, we often recommend furniture placement as well as accessorizing for the finished spaces.”

One of the main things this duo is sensitive to is budget, and they are adept at helping homeowners get the biggest bang for their buck.

Within the coming months, Daveron will be expanding into a new 5,000-square-foot showroom in Fairport Harbor.

“We’re in the process of adding displays and vignettes of kitchens and bathrooms, bars and basements, as well as an outdoor kitchen,” says Sarah. “We can’t wait for our clients to come see the new showroom.”
