Sweets & Geeks is preparing to open two new area locations in North Olmsted and Wooster

Expanding its footprint across Northeast Ohio, Sweets & Geeks is opening a second location at Great Northern Mall in North Olmsted this fall and building a third location in Wooster by the end of the year.

“We have people travel from all over to our Medina store, so we wanted to open more locations to make it more convenient for our customers,” says Brad Hoisington, vice president of Sweets & Geeks.

With a nod to the old neighborhood candy store, Sweets & Geeks brings candy, soda, games and pop culture of yesteryear to the customers of today, but in a large, modern setting. Spread over 25,000 square feet, you will find thousands of nostalgic items at its Medina flagship location—from Dad’s Old Fashioned Red Cream Soda to Jones Root Beer in the soda section, candies that date back to the 1800s, such as Necco Wafers and Fruit Stripe Juicy Gum, and others from the ’50s, including Sour Wax Bottles and Smarties Candy Necklaces.

“Our most popular candy, Toxic Waste Slime Licker of TikTok fame, is now back in stock,” Brad says. “Plus, we have freeze-dried candies that are the craze right now.”

In addition to selling sodas and candies, Sweets & Geeks is a pop culture haven chock-full of retro and modern memorabilia, as well as games you can buy, rent and play.

“We have a lot of Christmas memorabilia, such as Disney ornaments, in the store right now,” Brad says. “Plus, we have added pet items and expanded our sports memorabilia.”
