In addition to drinking copious amounts of water, spa treatments can also help your skin stay supple this summer.

“Getting facials is important year-round, but especially in the summer when the skin is prone to producing more oil, which clogs pores and dehydrates skin,” says Kathy Dyczko, an esthetician at Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa who formerly worked at Avalon Day Spa.

With 20-plus years of experience, Kathy specializes in advanced facials that go deeper than just cleansing and exfoliating.

Her signature skincare treatment—the Oxygen Facial—hydrates and plumps the skin by infusing it with vitamins, minerals and enzymes. And for those who have acne, this facial can be infused with acne-fighting ingredients.

“Oxygen is the oldest form of healing and it energizes cells naturally,” says Kathy.

To combat photoaging caused by UV light from the sun, which results in brown spots and wrinkles, Kathy recommends using sunblock daily and applying antioxidants aimed at protecting and repairing the skin.

For at-home care, the spa carries professional-grade products such as Ayur-Medic Vitamin B Complex Serum with hyaluronic acid and Vacha Toner with botanical extracts that hydrate dry skin.
