Sip, shop and socialize at 1811 Shop & Bar Room

More than just a place to shop, eat and drink, 1811 Shop & Bar Room is an experience.

“When we opened our store, we wanted to create a space where you can relax and enjoy your time away from all the hustle and bustle,” says Amanda Kaye, who, along with her husband Michael, owns the business. She the storekeeper, he the barkeeper.

To elevate the customer experience, they are adding more events at the shop and bar room, as well as the children’s shop just around the corner. From designers demonstrating how to craft a home décor item, to a cocktail class where a mixologist teaches three different drinks, most events sell out so get your tickets in advance.

Here is a sampling of upcoming events:

• Sip & Paint, Wednesday, July 31 - Sip on your favorite cocktail while creating a lemon-inspired painting.
• Tea Time at 1811 Children’s Shop, Saturday, September 14, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Visit with whimsical children’s book characters; enjoy tea and pastries, photos and games.

Plus, 1811 Shop & Bar Room hosts a monthly Trivia Night and a Movie Night, as well as live music on select Saturdays.

“We also are adding new items to our store. We now carry Fount leather purses and have launched an expanded food menu in our bar room featuring small plates like meatball sliders, a hummus platter and a s’mores board,” Amanda notes.
