Resolve now to have healthy legs
By Dr. Sonja Stiller, Center for Advanced Vein Care
One of the most popular New Year’s resolutions in America is to improve one’s health, which is largely related to weight loss, diet and exercise.
But there is another important health advancement you can achieve this year: Improving your legs’ venous health so you actually can exercise.
Tired, achy, tingly and swollen legs make movement difficult, especially when all you want to do is sit down and put your legs up. These are classic symptoms of varicose veins, even if you cannot see the tell-tale bulging veins or spider veins.
If you’d like healthier legs this spring and summer, you really have to start the process now. Most insurance companies have a six-week compression stocking requirement, and treatment takes time. So by getting started now, we can have your legs looking and feeling better in time to enjoy a healthy, active summer. Patients often come to us in the spring expecting to be healed by summer and are disappointed to learn how much time treatments take. I live for the day when patients no longer tell me, “I wish I would have come in earlier!”
So call our office now if you have a family history of varicose veins or blood clots, or any of the following symptoms:
- leg pain
- swelling
- fatigue
- itching
- burning
- inflammation
- skin discoloration
- restless legs syndrome.
And we’re proud to announce the expansion of our practice. We’ve added staff and doubled the size of our office (within the same facility), including adding our own private waiting room, more exam rooms, and a second treatment room. This means less waiting. We can now almost always see new patients the same day they call us.
