“Our own lives have been nothing but change these last few years,” says Maria. “We started this business in 2014 after Matt’s tour of duty with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. Fast-forward a few years and Matt and Maria, like so many young couples, were growing their business, and their family. Maria handles the design aspects and loves helping customers make decisions about window treatments and other design elements while Matt handles the ordering, measuring and installation.

“During the heart of the pandemic, we were thrilled to find out we were expecting our son, James, now a year-and-a-half old,” says Maria. “We also purchased our first home, which needed a lot of work, most of which Matt was able to do himself between installations for our customers. Let’s just say the customer always comes first. Our countertops went in a week before James was born.”

Matt and Maria’s combined knowledge and talent in design and carpentry resulted in their now beautiful home just in time to welcome James and, nine months later, they discovered they were expecting their daughter, Penelope.

“Life moves pretty quickly,” jokes Matt. “If all that wasn’t enough, I was recently called for military duty overseas beginning in August.”

That’s right. Matt reports for another tour of duty in August. And in Matt and Maria’s typical selfless style, they are thinking about their Budget Blinds customers first and making sure all requests, orders and installations are completed before he leaves.
