Do you have a basement or garage floor that is cracked, stained or peeling? Are you worried about your family members tripping on that uneven floor or slipping in the puddled water? Would you like a low-maintenance, durable and attractive flooring option for the sunroom or covered patio? Primary Home Improvements (PHI) now offers stone epoxy flooring, and company owners Mary Meadows and Mike DePasquale couldn’t be more excited about the new addition.

“Our goal, no matter what job we do, is to improve your family’s comfort in your home,” Mary says. “Offering stone epoxy flooring allows us to help our clients take their homes to the next level in terms of beauty and comfort. The stone epoxy product we offer is the highest quality available on the market today and is something you can be proud to have installed in and around your home.”

Homeowners in Northeast Ohio know the problems with concrete floors. Over time, the elements leave you with buckling, cracking, pitting, standing water, salt damage and an overall ugly floor. Repairs and quick fixes like paint can have you redoing your floor every few years. A high-quality stone epoxy floor from PHI covers that uneven concrete so you don’t slip or trip and keeps your floor looking great long into the future. Since it can be applied to garages, basements, sunrooms and covered patios, stone epoxy flooring is a low-maintenance solution that can truly expand the livable space of any home.

When they opened PHI, Mary and Mike provided fiberglass insulation for walls and attics and quickly added injection foam insulation for the entire home. Recently expanding their services again, PHI chose stone epoxy flooring because of the knowledge and expertise of their staff and the impact the product can have on a home.

“Stone flooring is an addition to our services for clients who want to enhance those areas of their homes that, let’s be honest, are often ignored,” Mike says. “Most of the time we can’t wait to close those doors and forget about the garage and often the basement, too. Stone epoxy flooring can change all that and make these spaces areas to be proud of—and worry- and maintenance-free.”

PHI’s stone epoxy flooring system can be used on any concrete surface and the process is completed in one day. The flooring is UV- rated and PHI’s installers have more than 20 years of combined experience in working with the product.

“This material can be tricky to work with and our installers know what they’re doing,” Mike says. “They are experienced experts at getting that flat, smooth, and flawless surface people are looking for. If it’s not done just right, the surface can be uneven or bubble and crack. With PHI’s installations, this doesn’t happen.”

Mary and Mike say that watching the stone being poured is almost mesmerizing.

“It’s pretty cool to watch the process,” Mike says. “Our installers first mix the stones and the epoxy in our concrete truck in the driveway of your home. The mixture is then poured into large buckets and applied over the prepared concrete surface.”

Mike says not to worry about the condition of your concrete now. PHI installers know just how to prepare the concrete and level it without tearing it out to get a completely flat application of your new stone flooring.

“Stone epoxy works well in basements, garages and covered outdoor settings because it holds up to moisture, is mold- and mildew-resistant and retains its beauty,” Mary says. “These are natural pebbles, not flakes, so there is no breakage, chipping or peeling after it is installed. Your new floor will be smooth as glass and maintenance-free.”

PHI offers five main colors of stone epoxy flooring in blends of tan, gray and pearl tones. One is sure to be just right in your home.
