Isn’t it high time you said bye-bye to your razor and yes, please, to a laser?

Over the past eight years, Docere Medical Spa & Laser Center in Strongsville has become one of the highest volume and most established providers of laser hair removal in the Cleveland area.

“Our paradigm is fundamentally different than most laser hair removal places,” points out Lori Leonard, who owns Docere.

“We have only licensed clinicians with a doctor onsite. Our pricing is straightforward and upfront. There are no salespeople with high-pressured tactics, no contracts, no commissions and no upselling.”

Here’s how it works: A technician beams a laser light into the hair follicle. Pigment in the follicle absorbs the light and the hair is destroyed leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. The procedure targets unwanted hair from any skin surface, from legs, back, chest and stomach to arms, underarms, bikini area, hands, feet and faces. The laser can target large areas of skin fast. An upper lip can take less than a minute.

Due to the natural cycle of hair growth, treatments are spaced four to six weeks apart.

“Our packages include eight treatments to ensure the best results,” states Lori. “After which hair growth is reduced to the point you can throw out your razors and forget about waxing.”

“To do hair removal well, you have to invest in both equipment and your people,” says Lori. “Our clinicians are licensed by the state medical board as cosmetic therapists. Before ever seeing a patient, they complete specialized laser hair-removal training and also complete our in-house training and internship.”

“The newest piece of equipment we invested in is an 810 Diode,” shares Lori. “This hair removal laser has a cooling effect so patients have the most comfortable, pain-free experience. Plus, it’s one of the fastest on the market, up to 10 times faster than other lasers, so procedures don’t take as long.”

Meet the New Cosmetic Therapists
Docere has added new licensed cosmetic therapists to handle the growing patient load for laser hair removal: Michelle Yount and Jen Jacobson, who join veteran technician Kathy Fiocco-Schwab.

Michelle began her journey with Docere as a patient, coming in for laser hair removal and having such a stellar experience, she decided to go back to school to earn her license and return to work there.

“Everyone at Docere is so kind, compassionate and caring,” she says. “I just wanted to be a part of the operation and share the great experience I had with others. Kathy took the time to educate me about the procedure in such a professional manner.”

Jen says Docere’s reputation within the industry is what drew her to work here.

“After I personally underwent laser hair removal and loved the results, I became passionate about it and wanted to bring that joy to others,” says Jen.

Know What You’re Getting
Lori recommends that anyone interested in laser hair removal asks these questions before they settle on a place to have the procedure done:

  • Are there physicians onsite?
  • What type of laser is used?
  • Are they all FDA approved?
  • Which is the best choice for my skin and hair type?
  • Have I seen a physician as required by the state medical board?

A Family of Lasers to Refresh Skin, Too
The laser used for hair removal here is just one in a family of lasers. Docere’s physician can use several different lasers to achieve significant improvement on the face and neck as well.

“We have the power to diminish wrinkles and lines as well as smooth texture and eliminate brown or red spots on the face,” says Lori.
