From fun and festive to thoughtful and useful to those that wow, Miles Farmers Market’s gift baskets make the perfect presents.

When it comes to unique gifting, this local farmers market is thinking outside the basket. In addition to fruit baskets overflowing with fresh apples, oranges, pears and other seasonal fruits, the staff puts together different themed baskets. And in addition to traditional wicker baskets, some are packaged in tin buckets, bushel baskets, old wine boxes and other interesting, recycled packaging for a personal touch.

“We have $35 gifts baskets that are perfect for hostess gifts or teacher gifts and have made some extravagant ones upwards of $1,000 with fine wines and other delicacies,” says Justin Golobek, store manager. “We have many customers who buy gift baskets every year, so we always feature new and exciting products we have introduced in our store.”

The store makes fruit baskets fresh every morning that you can purchase in the store, as on any given day in December you’ll find about 50 different baskets already made that you can choose from in different sizes. There are gifts for everyone—gifts for the host, gifts for the hard-to-buy-for person, gifts for the men in your life, and gifts for employees. For corporate gift giving, the baskets can be filled with sharable snacks, cookies and fruit for everyone to enjoy.

One of the best-selling gift items is “The Mr. & Mrs. Steak Box” filled with three Certified Angus Beef strip steaks and three filet mignon steaks, which are hand-cut by the butcher, packed in ice and delivered directly to the gift recipient so they are as fresh as they can be.

In addition to these meat boxes and gift baskets in the store, the staff can customize a basket for any budget.

“We need 48 hours notice to put together a customized basket,” says Justin, noting the market has its own workshop set up in the back of the store where he, the store owner’s son, and employees all help out assembling gift baskets all month long. “We can ship via UPS to anywhere in the country or deliver locally in our own trucks.”

Miles Farmers Market also can cater holiday events, whether there is a family get-together or an office party. “We can make anything from standing rib roasts to beef tenderloin to spiral hams to deli trays,” Justin says. “We source everything fresh, so we need 48-hours’ notice for all catering orders.”
