Medina is officially connected

The newest local high-speed internet provider is taking on the big providers and winning.
Since September 2022, Lit Fiber - Medina has connected more than 8,000 homes in this service area.
With a nimble network of local installers, technicians and call center employees, the provider offers guaranteed gigabit speeds, whole-home Wi-Fi coverage through one central device and 24/7 network monitoring.
Lit Fiber - Medina specialist Julian Redman projects the company plans to expand through Medina County with more than 12,000 additional homes and businesses expected to be connected over the next couple months.
“When we first started in Medina County, we had no idea how large this idea could go—serving areas untouched by the large internet providers,” he says. “We plan to grow our vision for the right for everyone to have access to affordable high-speed internet.”
As a local provider, the primary focus will always be on customer service.
“All of our support visits and the initial installation visit are free,” he says. “Another nice perk is that through our ProtectIQ initiative, we monitor customers’ networks 24/7 to protect from anti-phishing providing best-in-class network security.”
What makes the biggest difference in the quality of service is that Lit Fiber delivers a fiber cable directly into a home, instead of bringing fiber to an outdated coax network.
“As part of our customer service mission, we have made our demo center customer-friendly,” he adds. “Lots of people prefer to do business face-to-face and that’s fine by us. For those who prefer engaging online, we also make it simple to sign up for service that way.”
Lit Fiber - Medina doesn’t do restrictive or long-term contracts like other providers, he says. Customers can go month-to-month if they wish and cancel at any time without penalties.
The Speed
Julian explains that the 1 GBPS upload speed makes for a faster, smoother experience, especially for gamers and people who work from home, as well as those who enjoy streaming experiences and video chatting.
“With fully symmetrical speed, there’s no service lag,” he says. “And there are no data caps, either.”
Other residential services include VoIP and DIRECTV services to cut cable costs while still watching your shows on your favorite devices.
Protecting Network Security
Through the ProtectIQ initiative, over the past two months alone, Lit Fiber blocked 2,762 threats from viruses, ransomware or cyberattacks.
“Unfortunately, the reality is that new threats emerge daily,” says Julian.
“Luckily, we are adept at searching for these suspicious signatures and stopping them from being delivered to our customers’ devices.”
