Sam Gasser, a planner by nature, worked in the corporate world for years before she and her husband, Eric, opened up his family farm, White Birch Barn, for weddings and events planned by Sam and their staff of designers. “At White Birch Barn, fall weddings are very popular and the venue is decorated in seasonal decor,” says Sam. “When we were breaking down the fall displays last year, Eric just blurted out the line, ‘fall decor to your door.’ The lightbulb went off, we looked at each other, and the
idea for
The Pumpkin Porch was born in that moment.”

“The process is very straightforward,” says Sam. “Go to our website, pick out your package from the four offered, or mix and match your own, order, and we’ll set up your delivery date and time.”
When researching their idea for The Pumpkin Porch over the past year, Eric and Sam focused on the fact that people have been relying more and more on delivery services in recent years for just about everything—so why not outdoor decorations?
“Many people have their outdoor holiday lights installed and wreaths and garlands made for their homes. This is the same idea,” says Sam. “We may go in that direction in the future as well, but we wanted to start with fall because it’s such a beautiful time in Ohio and a favorite season for us personally.”
Eric and Sam were married in the fall 14 years ago. Working on the family farm his entire life, Eric always loved the change of seasons in Ohio, especially the fall.
“At the farm, we have access to all things fall,” says Eric. “The pumpkins and gourds, corn stalks, straw bales, mums are plentiful here. We thought, why not use what we have to help people beautify their homes at this naturally beautiful time of year in Ohio.”

“We will design and install your porch decor for you or drop it off for you to create your own display,” says Sam. “Our designers are our friends—people we know and trust—and it’s this great team that makes everything we do possible.”
After your order is placed, you can look forward to a mid-September delivery. That’s plenty of time to clear the porch of the wilting summer flowers and make room for your fabulous fall display.
“And don’t worry about clean-up after the season,” says Sam. “We can come back, remove the display and take the produce to local farms to be used as animal feed.”
Eric’s family business was a dairy farm, so he knows all about reusing his resources and getting creative.
“Eric is the hardest working man I’ve ever known,” says Sam. “And, together with our crew, we’ll get your porch ready to welcome fall.”
