Jackie Klemenc, of Wishing Star Travel, can make your Disney cruise wishes come true
By Jackie Klemenc, Disney Specialty Travel Agent
Welcome to the Part II narrative of my recent open-seas adventure aboard Disney’s amazing new The Wish cruise ship.
What made it the best vacation experience my family and I have ever had?
Countless big and little details. One that stood out to make the cruise fantastic was how far Disney went to thrill my children (and create some much-needed chill time for my husband and me) with the Kids’ Clubs.
Rather than being “watched” or “babysat,” it felt like my kiddos were totally engaged. They had a ball.
My 17-month-old enjoyed a cozy nap for several hours at It’s a Small World Nursery, for babies 6 months to toddlers 3 years old, while we grownups kicked back at the pool with a cocktail. It was freeing as a parent not to feel as if I had to sit in the room while she napped.
That Disney magical touch is alive and well within the Oceaneer Club, where kids ages 3-12 can enter from a giant whimsical encased slide zooming down from Deck 3 to Deck 2. My son is 3 years old and loved the many themed play spaces. MagicBands the kids wear on their wrist allow them to access different parts of the Club, like the Imagineering Lab for cool hands-on learning or Star Wars rooms. There’s even a stage within the club where characters make appearances throughout the day.
Our kids loved the clubs so much they wanted to go back at nighttime as well, so we adults got to enjoy a Broadway show. It’s the most relaxed my husband and I have felt since our honeymoon. The cruise line also provides many club options for kids ages 13-18. Ready for your enchanted voyage to set sail? Give me a call—and let the magic begin.
