Instead of toiling away in the yard this summer, why not let Peters Professional Landscaping take over?
By Patricia Nugent
Balancing the soft side of landscaping (beds, flowers, shrubs, bushes, trees) with the hard side (patios, arbors, trellises, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, bars, fireplaces, firepits and water features), the folks at Peters Professional Landscaping are masters at the art and science of creating beautiful yards.
According to Chris Peters, who founded the company in 1992, their seasoned and creative designers sit down with clients and ask a lot of questions to help them put together a custom design.
“We get a good handle on people’s likes and dislikes so we can orchestrate an outdoor living space that’s reflective of their taste,” he says. “We also make sure it flows seamlessly from their indoor space. Sometimes people are on a budget, and we get that. We have no problem doing parts of a job one summer, then others in following summers.”
With more people doing their entertainment outdoors and still hesitant to go on vacations, Peters is experiencing one of the busiest springs on record. While that’s always a good thing, Chris hopes customers can please be a little patient with them, as they’ve had challenges keeping up with all the work.
“We’re doing our best dealing with a shortage of labor and longer delivery times up and down our materials supply chain,” he explains.
What Customers are Saying
Peters has earned a reputation in Northeast Ohio for doing outstanding work. Everyone on the staff takes pride in their workmanship, no matter how big or small the job is. The five-star reviews speak for themselves.
“Peters Professional Landscaping just finished my new patio and landscaping and it looks amazing,” says Nadine F. “It looks awesome. The weather certainly made this a much longer project than we were expecting, but it is certainly worth it.”
Greg E., who hired Peters to build a new drainage system for his backyard, selected them because they were competitive with other bids, and, most importantly, a local, family-owned company. “Their representative was knowledgeable and provided solutions to fix my drainage issue. He was patient with all my questions. The whole crew was extremely professional, hard-working and nice. Awesome job!”
How Does Your Garden Grow?
Gardening is a trend that bloomed spectacularly during the pandemic last year, and it looks like it’s here to stay. Across the nation, according to a study in Better Homes & Gardens, the number of gardeners went from 42 million to 63 million.
“Last year, things were shaky and unpredictable,” says Chris. “So, people naturally flocked to the steady predictability of tending a garden. Once they started spending more time out in their gardens, they began looking for ways to improve their yards. We’re helping homeowners add bushes, shrubs and ornamental trees, as well as patios, arbors and trellises to create an outdoor living room feeling.”
Chris says that each year he seeks out landscaping materials that are unique to our area—things you wouldn’t find anywhere else.
“We strive to mix plant materials with differing sizes, shapes and colors, as well as varying bloom cycles, so there’s something gorgeous to see spring, summer and fall programmed to thrive in our zone,” he says. “We can easily integrate hardscapes and softscapes to put a spotlight on someone’s flower garden or orchestrate a plan to seclude a vegetable garden for maximum sunlight within a landscape scheme.”
How do You Want to Summer?
With the topsy-turvy spring weather, a lot of us haven’t had time to even think about mulch. That’s okay. Chris says there’s still plenty of time to lay your mulch in June and July. The good news is, mulch will save you countless hours of weeding. Just have the crew at Peters lay it and forget about it, as it works all summer long to suppress weeds, retain precious moisture and slowly break down to feed your landscaping.
The quality of mulch matters in how well it does its job. Peters only carries the most nutrient-dense varieties, and they buy it in higher volume bulk, so prices are comparable to other providers.
Another time-consuming job that is best left to the professionals is yard maintenance. The passionate and hard-working staff at Peters never sees this as a chore. Whether it’s mowing, edging, bed maintenance or yard cleanup, they love what they do—and it shows. Plus, with their large commercial mowers and equipment, they can do those jobs in a fraction of the time it would take you.
Why not kick back, put your feet up and pick up the phone to call Peters Professional Landscaping? Then let carefree summer fun begin.
