One of the roadblocks to pulling the trigger on a bathroom renovation is the underlying thought of having workers you’ve never met trampling through your house for who knows how long.

In the spirit of true confession, I must admit, my own master bathroom is an off-the-rails train wreck…hideous prefab, builder-grade shower and oversized Jacuzzi tub that no one ever uses. It should have been put out of its misery years ago, but I’m crazy busy and the thought of renovating it seems overwhelming.

The professionals at Bath R Us have come up with a winning formula for busy folks like me. They produce luxury bathroom rehabs that are budget-friendly in a handful of days in most cases. The installers are friendly, conscientious and seasoned. To make selection and planning a snap, they even come to your home for the initial consultation, bringing lots of samples to see how they will look in your bathroom.

Chad Howman, founder of Bath R Us

Founded by Chad and Stephanie Howman last spring, the dynamic company focuses solely on bathroom rehabs. They discovered a manufacturer out of Chicago with shower units that promise ultra-durability and mimic the stunning look of quartz, granite, marble and subway tiles, then combined those with flooring, toilets, bathtubs, vanities, sinks and fixtures for a genius niche concept.

Back to the Future
Ed Edwards and his wife had been kicking around the idea of renovating their stuck-in-the-1990s bathroom for years. It was dated, with little square tiles on the floor and the customary fiberglass shower unit that was quite small.

“We talked to different companies but never really connected with anyone,” says Ed. “Then my wife heard Mike Trivisonno talking about Bath R Us on the radio and we thought we’d give them a call. Joe came out the next day and showed us samples. There was a connection.”

Ed and his wife wanted the complete package, someone to come in and redo everything. In contrast to the bland white shower and floor they were replacing, the couple opted for a granite look in earthy shades of browns and grays, complemented by oil-rubbed bronze fixtures.

“We got exactly what we wanted,” says Ed. “Matt and Andy did a great job with demo and installation. They knew what they were doing. What was really nice was when they left, they cleaned up after themselves. Originally, I was thinking the job would take a few weeks, but it only took four days.”

In the end, he says honesty and professionalism is what they were looking for and that’s what they got.

Time for a Makeover?
The average bathroom remodel can cost upwards of $30,000-$40,000. Chad and Stephanie researched the local market and found a way around that to offer homeowners the spa-like bathroom of their dreams, for a fraction of the price.

“Providing a wide selection is important to us, and we offer many choices and styles—from rustic or farmhouse to modern and contemporary,” says Chad.

To appeal to seniors, they also install special walk-in tubs and zero-entry showers with grab bars.
