Improved ACA benefits

With the introduction of the American Rescue Plan Act, people who currently participate in an Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance plan have the opportunity to make a change or save a considerable sum of money on their plan costs, if they act before Sunday, August 15.

For about 80% of Americans, plans for $10 after subsidies will be possible. Some people are seeing silver plans for zero dollars a month.*

For those who were on unemployment for any amount of time during 2021, the highest allowable subsidy will be possible—even if you have or had a really good income.*

For those taking advantage of COBRA (an extension of previously held group coverage from an employer) because they lost their job and were eligible, the government may cover the cost until the end of September.

The new subsidies are not automatic. You have to update your information to take advantage of these savings.

Now might be a perfect time to take a closer look at the ACA plan you’re in to see if it’s still meeting your needs, or if the several billion dollars that have been carved out for richer benefits could be of benefit to you. With just a quick phone call to me, you can find out if there are healthcare savings in your immediate future. As always, my guidance is free of charge.
