If you’ve been injured or are struggling with comfort due to aging or a degenerative condition, Northeast Factory Direct’s new line of wellness products can improve your life—without breaking the bank.
When Northeast Factory Direct founder Alex Nemet’s father needed a lift chair, Alex looked everywhere, finally finding a medical supply company that could order one.
It was expensive.
So Alex did what any caring son who owns a regional chain of furniture stores would do: He started offering lift chairs.
“It was disappointing not to be able to help my dad more quickly,” Alex laments. “I didn’t want anyone else to have to go through that expense and delay to help their own parents, so we did some research and started carrying them.”
But Alex—being the Duke of Discount—refused to sell them at full retail. Instead, you can buy your own lift chair right now, today, in stock for just $599.
NEFD@Home Wellness
The chairs have become so popular, Alex and his team have added a new brand called NEFD@Home Wellness. It’s a line of wellness products for people recovering from injury and for seniors who want to remain in their own homes. The line includes lift chairs, hot tubs, infrared saunas, massage chairs, adjustable beds and mattresses.
We sat down with Marc Linden, president of NEFD’s furniture division to learn more about these products.
Lift Chairs
“Our lift chairs are ideal for those who need help getting in and out of a recliner,” Marc explains. “We sell a ton of them. They’re for people who may be suffering from arthritis or reduced muscle strength, and for those who have had surgery and can’t sleep in a bed. They recline completely so you can sleep then get out of the chair by yourself without asking anyone for help.”
Marc says the chairs glide up and down completely and are fully customizable. “You choose how far you want your feet to go up, how far you want to recline, and how much lumbar and headrest support you want. It’s easy to achieve a zero-gravity position, and they’re super affordable at just $599,” he adds.
Hot Tubs
“You see a lot of ads for hot tubs featuring an attractive young couple in the spa enjoying a glass of wine,” Marc says. “That’s great, but that’s not how most people use a spa. Instead, they’re ideal for soothing sore joints and muscles, improving flexibility and blood flow, and reducing stress. The health benefits are legit.”
As Marc shows me the attributes of one of the new hot tubs in the NEFD@Home line, Alex walks by. “You see a similar hot tub selling everywhere for $12,000,” he says proudly. “We sell that one for just $6,999.”
Most hot tubs are 220 volts, but some are plug-in-and-go 110 models. The stores also carry swim spas and salt-water spas.
“We offer many different sizes, so our spas can fit in any size back yard, no matter how big or small,” Marc says.
Infrared Saunas
Infrared saunas aren’t like rock and water versions. “Because infrared light waves generate the heat, the light penetrates nine times deeper than traditional saunas,” Marc explains. “This makes them good for collagen growth, as well as detoxification, muscle relaxation, and fighting against Seasonal Affective Disorder—or SAD—which is very common during Northeast Ohio’s cold and cloudy winters.”
The Wellness saunas plug into a standard 110-volt outlet and come equipped with Bluetooth, so you can take your relaxation to the next level. They can even include foot reflexology. The two-person model is just $2,999.
Massage Chairs
“A full-body, zero-gravity massage chair takes the stress out of the seated position and puts your knees at the level of your heart,” Marc explains. “They stimulate blood flow, help reduce acid reflux, and just 20 minutes in the chair will give you a more restful sleep. Most people who buy one make it an everyday part of their wellness routine.”
Massage chairs start at $3,499.
Mattresses and Adjustable Beds
“Mattresses are the most marked-up product in the furniture business,” Marc complains. “But we’ve partnered with a manufacturer to make our own line. If we find a mattress we like, we’ll cut it in half, reverse engineer it, double the warranty, and sell it for a lot less. Regardless of the size or type of mattress you want, we can save you money.”
Marc recently calculated that NEFD has helped customers save more than $1.8 million in mattress costs.
These mattresses can also be paired with adjustable beds. “With our beds, you can achieve a comfortable, zero-gravity position, and that makes it much easier to get a good night’s sleep.” Marc says. “And the easy-to-use lighted control even comes with a USB plug.”
Queen-size adjustable beds start at just $599 and come with a 20-year warranty.
“Ever since that day Alex couldn’t find a lift chair for his dad, NEFD has strived to meet our customers where they are on their wellness journey,” Marc concludes. “Whether you’re injured or simply suffering from the aches and pains of a long time on this planet, our wellness products can help you heal faster and achieve a better quality of life.”
