If your pants are feeling a little snug right now, with all the indulgences that come with the holidays, 2piFit will help to give you some wiggle room.

To help you lose weight and tone up, personal trainer Celena Koerber is launching her Drop 2 Sizes 8-Week Challenge on Monday, January 11.

Though she also is an industrial engineer, Celena tells her clients not to get bogged down with numbers when it comes to fitness.

To help people lose weight and tone up, personal trainer Celena Koerber, of 2piFit, is launching her Drop 2 Sizes 8-Week Challenge on Monday, January 11.

“When you start an exercise program, don’t get fixated on your body measurements or weight,” says Celena. “During this eight-week virtual program, I tell my clients to put away their scales and don’t count calories. Instead, I tell them to get a pair of jeans two sizes too small and only use those pants to track how they are progressing. The scale doesn’t always show true progress as you are building muscle at the same time as losing fat. But with a pair of jeans, you will definitely notice how they fit better. Oftentimes, if people get fixated on the scale, it hinders their progress because they get unmotivated when they don’t see the numbers dropping fast enough.”

The Drop 2 Sizes 8-Week program consists of four workouts a week: two strength-training workouts (resistance training) and two metabolic conditioning workouts (interval-based circuit-like workouts).

Though the 30- to 45-minute workouts are virtual, you still get personal interaction with Celena as she does all the exercises along with you. The first week consists of exercise demonstrations and you doing two full sets, then progressing to add more sets and resistance. There also is an accountability meetup once a week where every participant shares what went well and what did not go well the previous week, and if they met their weekly goal.

And the best thing is, you can do this from the comfort of your home. “All you need is a little space to move around and some exercise bands and slider discs,” says Celena. “Adding weights is optional if you want more resistance.”

“You don’t have to go out and buy anything to start this program,” she adds. “And if you sign up early, I will send you a free at-home workout package that includes exercise bands and sliders.”

This small-group training consists of four to six people participating virtually at a convenient time that works best for the group. If you miss one day, the workouts are videotaped so you can hop on anytime to make it up.

As part of the program, Celena also gives you a nutrition journal so you have all the tools you need to be successful along with the workouts. She offers tips on how to purge your kitchen of processed foods, calorie-containing beverages, sugar and alcohol in order to succeed in your weight loss.

“Just like I tell clients not to weigh themselves, I also tell them not to get fixated on counting calories,” says Celena, who is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer, fitness nutrition specialist and corrective exercise specialist. “I look at each client’s food journal and show them where they can improve their nutrition and recommend grocery lists.”

Heading into the New Year, now is the time to focus on your health and wellness.

“If you are going to spend money on something, invest in yourself,” she says. “Invest in getting yourself healthier and fitter.”
