Last year, many of us may have spent our days feeling vulnerable—unsure of where conditions would take us as a country or how it would impact us personally and financially. If nothing else, we now understand the value of being prepared.

“When I do their complimentary healthcare review, many people are surprised to learn about plan benefits they are paying for but not using. Simply put, they don’t know what their coverage covers,” says licensed insurance agent Scott McEvoy, of HealthMarkets Insurance Agency. “For example, they may have coverage for over-the-counter medication, but have no idea they can get reimbursed for those purchases. Others may have access to free fitness classes or other health and wellness benefits. They’re paying for it. They have access to it. But they simply aren’t aware of all of the benefits they could be enjoying under their healthcare plan.”

That’s why it’s a prudent move to sit down with Scott so he can review your current standing. He’ll uncover all of the benefits available under your plan, and help you understand how best to utilize them. Scott offers appointments during the day, but he also has the flexibility to meet with clients in the evening or on weekends.

“It doesn’t matter what coverage you have, even if your employer is supplying your benefits, there can still be holes that need to be filled. I can help with that,” Scott assures. “I’m here to help you get the most out of your plan and shore up certain spots so you’re approaching life from a position of strength.”

And the best part is, he says, there’s no charge for his guidance.

“This time of year, I have more flexibility with time. So, it’s a good time to sit down with me at your convenience to go over your plan,” he notes. “We’ll also take a look at your complete coverage situation. If you have a life insurance policy, for example, we’ll take a look at it to make sure there aren’t any holes, and make sure what you’re paying for is the right choice for you and your family.”

Scott says working with the team at HealthMarkets provides people with flexibility. “We aren’t beholden to any one company, so we can offer a variety of options,” he says. “We’re able to fine-tune your benefits to suit your life. With us, there is no one-size-fits-all plan. Every person is unique, and so are their insurance needs. We’ll help you to feel confident that the choices you’re making for you and your family can best meet your goals for coverage.”

Last year, many of us may have spent our days feeling vulnerable—unsure of where conditions would take us as a country or how it would impact us personally and financially. If nothing else, we now understand the value of being prepared. Scott says many people are taking a closer look at life insurance, disability and critical illness policies as a way to prepare themselves for life’s unexpected events.

“A lot of people are also seeing increases in deductibles and co-pays,” Scott states. “We offer solutions to help lessen the burden these might have on an already-stressed family budget.”

HealthMarkets is conveniently located just off of I-480 at 9551 Vista Way in Garfield Heights. Hours are Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m., evenings and weekends by appointment.

Turning 65?
If you’ll be turning 65 this year, Scott says it’s important to schedule a time to meet with him at least six months before your birthday. “It’s a great idea to come in and find out what your healthcare options are,” he invites. “Most people turning 65 are contacting me to better understand the changes that may be coming for them, and what the solutions are.”

Scott says some people are surprised to learn the best option may be to stay on their employer-sponsored healthcare plan. For others, making a switch could be the right fit. And a surprise to many is they can remain employed while making healthcare changes that best suit them and their unique situation.

What’s Your FitScore?

Your FitScore provides a personalized view of which plan might be the right match for you.”
