To return or not to return. When it comes to high-contact gyms in this post-quarantine world, that is the question.

In such uncertain times, it’s more important than ever to stay healthy and strong. Since the onset of the spread of Covid-19, public health officials have indicated that older Americans and those with underlying health conditions are the most vulnerable.

Luckily, one local fitness studio seems tailor-made for best safe practices—MaxStrength Fitness.

This is not your typical gym. The private studio hosts one-on-one sessions in a temperature-controlled (no sweating) setting that’s extremely clean. Every machine is sanitized after each use and the environment is deep-cleaned every 30 days by the Germ Free Company.

The studio also differs from your average gym in its approach to exercise. The protocol is science-based and highly efficient. Spacing out 20-minute workouts to twice a week allows optimal time for adaptive change to take place and muscles to rebuild.

“We are thrilled and grateful to welcome back so many of our returning clients following the stay-at-home order,” says MaxStrength Founder Jeff Tomaszewski. “After their first visit, they tell us they feel relieved and reassured about their workouts, which is exactly what we are going for.”

Going a Bit Overboard
Janice Parham was a little leery about returning to her workouts at MaxStrength. She waited a week after they reopened to let them get their routine in place. Her first visit went like this:

“I waited in my car in the parking lot and my phone rang with an invite to come in. I hit the first machine and it felt good to be back. As I stood up, my trainer sprayed and wiped the machine down with a paper towel. This occurred on all six machines I used. As we moved around the room to the various machines, I realized that we all moved in a way that none of us came close to one another. As I finished and walked out with my trainer, he squirted hand sanitizer on my hands. I walked out rubbing my hands together, realizing that wearing a mask did not keep me from working out and I could breathe ok. Jeff and the team at MaxStrength Fitness were probably going a bit overboard to keep me safe and healthy. I am ok with that. I have been back three times and feel more comfortable about the cleanliness here than I do going to the grocery store.”

Virtual Training Still an Option
For those who prefer to hang back a while and wait to return to the gym, no worries, Jeff and his team have you covered with MaxStrength Virtual.

“The difference between our virtual training and others is that instead of you watching and trying to imitate a trainer on video, an expert trainer is watching you and instructing you the entire time,” he says. “It is the constant assessment and correction in form along with the support and motivation to achieve results that sets our virtual training apart from other online options.”

He says people can try virtual training for free with an initial consultation and two free sessions.
