Cathy Pickett is not one of those ladies you’ll see on the cover of a supermarket tabloid who lost 100 pounds or “half her weight,” holding her former size 20 jeans waistband out at arm’s length with an astonished look on her face. (“I did it!”)

Rather, she’s the kind of woman who has loved exercising and weight training her whole life. Along with her husband and three grown children, she enjoys skiing, kayaking and hiking in the great outdoors.

But about five years ago, the results of her training efforts had stalled. She was tired of working out at big box gyms without seeing the benefits.

“During and after menopause, I noticed how much more difficult it was to stay in shape,” says Cathy, who is 60-something. “I felt like no matter what I did, it didn’t make a difference, like I was spinning my wheels.”

Then she read a story about MaxStrength Fitness in Mimi magazine.

“Founder Jeff Tomaszewski’s philosophy seemed different, individualized and motivating,” she says. “Though I was skeptical, on my initial consultation everyone was professional, warm and welcoming. Right away it felt like they were committed to my success. I have worked out with other personal trainers over the years, but no one ever gave me the personalized attention the MaxStrength trainers do. They push me in a positive and safe way.”

Cathy’s children are also very fitness minded.

“We are always sharing nutrition and supplement tips,” she says. “Whenever I ask the trainers about things, they are very knowledgeable about how nutrition affects my objectives. Before coming here I struggled to lose a pound, but I ended up losing 20 while gaining muscle. I feel wonderful. MaxStrength is a godsend.”

No-Sweat Workouts
Jeff’s background is in training and exercise science. Evidence-based research is what drives his science-backed protocol. Through two 20-minute workouts per week, on specialized low friction resistance equipment—greater results are achievable.

“Our trainers deserve a lot of the credit for their level of professionalism and engagement,” he says. “And being able to offer no-sweat workouts by keeping our studio temps on the chilly side is a game-changer for busy clients.”

He says most gyms want their members to work out a lot. Not here.

“We want our clients to put in the intense work, then get on with their lives,” he says. “There’s a benefit to structuring the workouts two days per week. It gives muscles the optimal chance to rebuild between workouts.”

Jeff and his team are always looking to expand their services to help transform people’s lives. Last year they introduced a wellness coaching program that provides smart strategies for people looking to achieve their best level of wellness.

Speaking of expansion, the MaxStrength team recently announced its newest studio location in Strongsville, set to open this summer.
