Having navigated the last year like a champion, Gerri Talevich, the delightful owner of Gerri’s Closet, arguably one of the toniest consignment shops in the area, is feeling…yellow.

“People are really gravitating toward bright, sunny colors,” she shares. “And yellow is all the rage.”

So much so that shoppers are snapping up anything in the juicy hue highlighted in her shop. A master of color coordination and display, Gerri motions to a yellow- and bee-themed vignette at the front of store. Featured are yummy yellow capri pants, an apron scattered with a lemon print, bee and honey signs and jewelry, and lemon-inspired home décor.

Not to be outdone is the patriotic-themed vignette outfitted with hats, tees and table items in red, white and blue.

Gone are the days of dreary sweats and mis-matched summer outfits. Gerri says her shoppers are kicking things up a notch.

“Women are over-dressing for the occasion,” she smiles. “They want to be in flirty summer dresses, even if it’s just for a trip to the grocery store. And, here, they can grab the look they want for less. Finally free to venture wherever they want to go, ladies are more focused on their appearance and having fun with it.”

Gerri’s Closet has entered into a collaboration with ThrifterClub.com, where you can sign up to receive discount coupons on a monthly basis. And, side note, these coupons give shoppers access to even greater discounts than Gerri offers in her store.

What to Expect
Shoppers new to consignments wares may be a little surprised when visiting Gerri’s. The spotless, boutique-like store features only flawless clothing, accessories, shoes and home décor items. Much of the merchandise is new or like new, with prices at a fraction of what you’d pay in a traditional retail store.

High-end brands like Coach, Ann Taylor, Vera Bradly, Michael Kors, Nike, Ugg, Tory Burch, Lilly Pulitzer, Athleta, lululemon and more are prominent. In fact, her consigners spent so much time thinning out their closets last year and bringing it all to Gerri’s, she’s had to be even more discriminating with her selections, so you get an even better buying experience.

Knowledgeable staff members are on hand to warmly offer support and advice. They’re the masterminds behind the darling rack toppers featuring complete grab-and-go ensembles.

“Our racks are full, but we typically only have one of each item. If you see something you like, you need to grab it,” she informs, noting the store currently has summer dresses galore and more sandals than she knows what to do with.

Following the Gerri’s Closet Facebook page or finding the store on Instagram will keep you dialed in to the hottest arrivals. Gerri says she does videos highlighting new items a couple times a week.

And, as is the hallmark of her business model, Gerri offers a couple different departments at 20% off each day. “We always have sale items,” she notes. “You can easily grab a cute top for $8 or $10.”

Home Décor
Over the last few years, Gerri has been incorporating more and more home décor into her mix of affordable finds. Always on trend, the store includes a generous selection of farmhouse-themed items that she says fly out the door. It’s easy to change out your accessories by season when you’re saving so much money. And whether it’s a new wardrobe or accessories for your home’s interior, a little pick-me-up might be just what the CDC ordered.

Gerri’s Closet is located at 4195 Massillon Road in Uniontown (in the city of Green). Hours are still in flux, so it’s best to check the website for current times. The phone number is 330-896-8141 and the web address is GerrisCloset.com. The Facebook page is very active, with posts of new merchandise happening almost hourly. For the time being, consignment drop-offs are by appointment only.
