Reaching out to people and spreading her invaluable knowledge has always been important to local attorney Margaret T. Karl.

“I understand how uncertain people can be about complicated legal terminology and documentation,” says Margie, who concentrates on estate planning and elder law. “It’s always been my policy to explain everything to my clients in terms they can easily understand. And when I do different talks in the community, people feel like they can ask their questions and get a clear explanation.”

Now that the pandemic is in the rearview mirror and organizations and facilities are offering seminars again, Margie is filling her speaking schedule.

“People usually want to know the documents they should have in place,” she says. “The big four are a will or trust, financial power of attorney, healthcare power of attorney and living will.”

Margie also helps veterans get all the benefits they are entitled to and is accredited and listed on the VA site of recommended attorneys.

Nurses and social workers who need credit-approved educational opportunities have enjoyed Margie’s insightful talks over the years.

“Anyone who works with the senior population can benefit from a broader-based knowledge of their legal considerations,” she says. “In the past I’ve spoken to Realtors, insurance professionals, financial advisors, senior caretakers and support groups on a range of senior-centric topics.”
