Disney’s new ship, The Wish
By Jackie Klemenc, Disney Specialty Travel Agent
I've just returned from my Disney cruise. It was hands-down the best vacation experience of my lifetime, seriously, a boatload of fun…pun intended.
Now I appreciate why the readers of Travel + Leisure named Disney the best cruise in the world.
My voyage was on the newest and largest cruise ship in the fleet—The Wish.
Since it would take pages and pages for me to tell the story of my experience, I’ve decided to split the topic into three parts to run this month, December and January. Let’s start with an overview, then stay tuned for me to delve further into the Kids’ Clubs and Disney’s own private island, Castaway Cay.
Disney themes are magically celebrated everywhere you look, in the characters who mingled with passengers, to the themed suites. Unbelievable pools all around the ship feature themed splash zones and water slides.
At night, we rotated through the amazing onboard restaurants and then enjoyed a Broadway-esque show. In true something-for-everyone spirit, the Pirate Night featured two parties, one fit for younger and the other older passengers. A host of adults-only bars let us kick back while our kids were at the kids’ club. The enchantment was capped off with a fireworks night at sea.
Our stateroom was a total surprise. I had always heard how cramped ship’s rooms were. We had plenty of space with extra storage for our two kids and had a split bathroom, with everything decorated in fairy tale touches.
Ready for your enchanted voyage? Give me a call…and let the magic begin.
