In the midst of moving into its fabulous 5,000-square foot building on High Street in Fairport Harbor, the darling designers of Daveron Design + Build are letting their imaginations run a little wild. The team at Daveron Builders is transforming the space from a tired 1970s look, into an ultra-chic design showroom.

Feathering Their Nest
For interior designers Katie Capek and Sarah Simpson, making the selections for the stunning space has been a long time coming. They’ve feathered their stylish studio space with a 75-inch television screen to go over CAD designs with clients, as well as an alcove coffee bar with their custom made cabinetry, reclaimed floating wood shelves, and a fun abstract wallcovering from Phillip Jefferies. The ladies point out that a woman walked by the showroom, noticed the stunning focal point through the window, and came in and hired them on the spot to re-create it in her home.

Clients will be greeted at the door with a beautiful faux bois wallcovering adorned with the Daveron Design Build Logo, accompanied by a floral patterned Walker Zanger concrete tile. Adjacent to the reception desk are a series of rooms housing the large selection of flooring, tile, wallcovering and much more on easy-to-browse displays. In the main showroom, you’ll find full scale kitchen and bathroom vignettes showcasing everything from custom cabinetry to sleek new shower options complete with custom glass displays.

“As full-service designers planning kitchens, bathrooms and home additions, we work with every aspect a homeowner would need to bring a space to life, including furniture, lighting, window treatments and accessories in addition to cabinetry, flooring, countertops and tile,” says Sarah.

Although the warehouse area and staging area in the back of the building might not look sexy, they offer space for the firm to store and stage materials for their upcoming projects, meaning homeowners wont need to endure timeline delays. Although it’s not yet open to the general public, clients have just begun tapping into the limitless selection the showroom has to offer.

Trending toward functionality, adding an alcove coffee bar a few steps away from your kitchen footprint adds big impact within a small space.

Streamlining the Process
“We begin our design process with an in-depth phone call to get a feel for the desired budget range and the scope of work your project will entail,” says Sarah. “Follow up to that initial design phone call could be an in-home consultation with our design team.”

These ladies are seasoned in the field, and both have degrees in interior design. “Clients appreciate the level of one-stop shopping we are capable of offering,” says Katie.

What’s trending now in interior decor? “After many years of gray, we are seeing color palettes swinging back to warmer shades of taupe and bronze,” reports Sarah. “The metals are getting warmer, too, with more gold and less brushed nickel. Surfaces are highly textured and lend a more organic feeling.”

“In addition to complete design service, we also manage your project from concept to production to completion. Clients can also be confident knowing, when you do a project with Daveron Builders, you get one of the owners, Dave Mullet or Ron Eddy, working on your home. Dave manages the kitchen renovations while Ron handles all of the bathrooms.

As full-service designers planning kitchens, bathrooms and home additions, the team at Daveron Design + Build works with every aspect a homeowner would need to bring a space to life, including furniture, lighting, window treatments, accessories and even paint colors in addition to cabinetry, flooring, countertops and tile.

Working the Wood, Custom to Reclaimed
Daveron is owned by Dave Mullet and Ron Eddy, who have spent over 20 years in the construction business. Dave manages the kitchen renovations and Ron the bathroom renovations. The gentlemen say working with clients to transform their living space is highly rewarding work.

One of the many things that makes Daveron unique, is that they offer fully custom cabinetry and woodworking by their sister company, Pleasant Valley Woodworking, in Middlefield.

“Through our partnership, the possibilities are endless for custom jobs,” says Dave. “We can design cabinetry that’s made with the highest craftsmanship from local wood selection. We also offer a nice variety of reclaimed wood that makes each job unique.

Pulling Out All the Stops at the “Cabin”
In addition to primary residences, Daveron Design + Build has beautified lots of vacation homes, like the kitchen renovation seen here in this rustic Roaming Shores summer cabin.

“Our challenge was to brighten the space, yet still blend with the wood walls surrounding the kitchen,” says interior designer Sarah Simpson. “We also wanted to connect the kitchen and family room. This homeowner likes to entertain, especially over the holidays.”

They replaced the dated cabinets with pale celadon-colored ones on the perimeter, then accented the large island in a rich charcoal color.

“We extended the island into the living room in a “T” shape and added barstools for better shared space and flexibility,” she says. “The island also features a wine cooler and white quartz countertop.”

The design duo helped select a luxury vinyl tile in grays and browns that perfectly accentuates the modern feeling.

“After the job was completed, the client was so happy we are already planning a master bath addition to the home,” says Katie.
