Staying true to her roots, Barb Whitney—affectionately known as the “Medina Dog Lady”— offers in-home pet sitting for those furry friends that would rather stay in the comfort of their homes instead of going to a dog daycare or boarding facility.

“I started my business in 2007 offering in-home pet sitting before opening It’s A Dog’s Life Pet Daycare, Resort & Spa in 2016, and it still is a main focus of my business,” she says.

“I can come to your home to take your pets for a walk, feed them or just be with them for social interaction. I take care of just about any animal, including dogs, cats, farm animals, reptiles, and exotic animals.”

While some senior dogs and cats or those that are anxious prefer to stay in the comfort of their homes, others enjoy the socialization at a bigger pet resort. It’s A Dog’s Life Pet Daycare, Resort & Spa offers the best of both worlds.

Designed more like a cozy home than a pet boarding facility, the daycare and boarding rooms have been revamped and reorganized to provide a fun and safe environment. A “pet taxi’ to and from homes is also available.

“Some of my clients take advantage of both services and sometimes have me come to their home and at other times drop their pets off at the daycare or for overnight accommodations,” Barb says. “We care for your pet where they are most comfortable.”

It’s A Dog’s Life Pet Daycare, Resort & Spa is located at 245 South Medina Street in Medina and ItsADogsLifePetDaycare.com. Call 330-952-2522 to make reservations.
