Country singer Luke Bryan maintains that most mamas oughta qualify for sainthood.

But even if your mom is one miracle short of canonization, at least she oughta qualify for a scrumptious meal she doesn’t have to cook herself.

That’s why Blue Heron Brewery and Event Center is offering two delicious options to honor, wine and dine Mom on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 9.

• You can bring Mom and the rest of the family to enjoy a five station “around the world” Mother’s Day brunch in the elegant Blue Heron Ballroom, or
• You can pick up a restaurant quality Take & Bake filet mignon meal to heat and eat in the comfort of your own home

“We’re a family owned business and we all have moms,” says Khadar Soussou, general manager of Blue Heron. “We’re always looking for a special and fun way to celebrate Mom during the year. Coming out for a brunch in the Blue Heron ballroom is a spectacular way to share some laughs, outstanding food and some complimentary mimosas with Mom. At just $50 per adult, we’ve also made it affordable.”

The brunch, which will be open with advance reservations from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., will have four international stations with cuisine representing Asia, Spain, Italy and America, plus a dessert station featuring flaming bananas foster and cherries jubilee.

Seared Ahi tuna and stir fry—along with potstickers and egg rolls—will highlight the Asian station, while the Spanish selections will include classic paella, assorted migas and other Spanish meats and cheeses. Pasta, antipasti and chicken Florentine will be offered at the Italian station, and the American station will serve crab stuffed flank steak, bacon, sausage and potatoes, along with a waffle bar.

You may choose to complement your complimentary mimosas with a cocktail or two from the cash bar.

“The chicken Florentine is always one of our most popular dishes,” says Executive Chef Ben Erjavec.

So popular, in fact, that the entrée will also be paired with filet mignon in the Blue Heron’s Mother’s Day Take & Bake package.

The Take & Bake meal includes chicken Florentine, filet mignon, garlic roasted asparagus, a springtime salad featuring fresh berries, fresh baked ciabatta rolls and compound butter, peach cobbler with crumb topping and a bottle of wine.

“The Take & Bake is a fully prepared meal,” Khadar explained. “You pick it up between noon and 4:00 on the day before Mother’s Day, and you simply reheat it in the oven. We give you all the instructions, including how long to heat the steaks according to how you like them done. All the cookware is disposable, so you won’t have any pots and pans to scrub after your meal with Mom.”

Ben says the cold water lobster risotto with white cream sauce is the “star of the side dishes.”

The Take & Bake meal also will include garlic roasted asparagus, a springtime salad featuring fresh berries, fresh baked ciabatta rolls and compound butter, peach cobbler with crumb topping and a bottle of wine.

And, Khadar adds, a bouquet of flowers for Mom.

Just in time for the brunch, Brewmaster Mike Piazza will introduce his Coffee Cream Ale—a sweet variation of his Matrimony Ale that earned a bronze medal at last fall’s U.S. Open Beer Championships.

Mike also will offer his Mexican influenced CLZ—Crisp Lemony Zip.

Just in time for the brunch, Brewmaster Mike Piazza will add more beer selections to the lineup including the Coffee Cream Ale and CLZ—Crisp Lemony Zip.

“It’s made for summertime,” Mike says. “It’s become so popular that we’re also going to be canning it to take home.”
