As 2021 kicks off, the folks at Knollwood Cemetery find themselves very thankful to have survived these difficult times.

In late 2019, they began a large expansion project centered around an aboveground garden crypt building.

Building “M” was designed to offer the public a state-of-the-art structure with 435 full-sized burial spaces and 192 niches. It was completed and had its first burial just after the pandemic hit our country. Sales progressed slowly during the pandemic, but, over the year, the building has received excellent comments and sales are growing.

Following the opening, the cemetery staff continued to generate new ideas and concepts that will bode well for the future.

A new road has been added and will be paved in 2021. Severe weather has caused the removal of many trees and shrubs, and this has done a great deal to improve the grounds. Some new equipment has been added and old equipment replaced or repaired.

The staff recently shared an email they received just before Christmas.

It said, “On behalf of our family, I wish to thank you and your team for your kindness and professional services during this difficult time of losing our mother. I was truly impressed by how well your team prepared the grounds, especially considering the wet conditions. We are very grateful that your team was there for us all.”
