The home improvement boom that began last year as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic continued throughout 2021 and is showing no signs of slowing in 2022. While higher demand alone can often result in construction equipment shortages, additional factors have created a perfect storm. The bottom line of the slowdown for contractors is this: if you want new equipment in time for the spring season, you need to order it now. Gone are the days of walking into a showroom and buying something off the lot, although as a rental company as well as a dealer, ABC also offers used equipment.
“If you need equipment, it’s best to order it as soon as possible,” Alan advises. “In many cases, there is already a long wait, especially on popular items like RTVs and track loaders.”
Track loaders—or track concrete buggies—run on tracks instead of wheels so they go through the mud better. “And with a rotating bucket, you don’t have to shovel in material,” Alan adds. “You rotate and dump right into foundation or footer. Plus, you make fewer runs. It’s all about efficiency.”
Section 179 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code

Section 179 of the United States Internal Revenue Code allows you to write off equipment purchases up to $1 million in 2021 instead of depreciating the expense over time. This means a huge tax saving this year.{6}
