Karen Michelson, CNP, owner of Visage MedSpa in Willoughby, knows that adding volume to your face results in a more youthful look. Twenty-one years ago, Karen attended a conference on injectables and it changed the path of her career.

“I was working for a dermatology practice and injectables were a new treatment,” says Karen. “I was the first nurse in Ohio to administer injectable fillers and I’ve been doing it for more than two decades.”

After training physicians and nurses on proper injection techniques, Karen decided to offer her skills directly to her own clients and opened Visage MedSpa in August. 

“When I started, the only injectable available was collagen,” says Karen. “Now there are a number of different options available to address the needs of both men and women.”

Visage MedSpa offers Restylane dermal filler for wrinkles and lost facial volume, Dysport for softening frown lines and crow’s feet, and micro needling, a skin resurfacing treatment for brown spots, acne scars and fine lines.

Things have changed over the last 20 years. Today the treatments Karen offers have become commonplace. 

“People are taking such good care of their bodies, but thin is not so great for the face,” says Karen. “I can add that lost volume for an instant result. Helping people to feel better about themselves is very gratifying.”
