New York Textiles & Interiors
“We are passionate about helping people live their best-designed life.” — Therese Kish, owner New York Textiles and Interiors
The interior designers at New York Textiles & Interiors have the solution-based training and talent to bring clients’ imagination to life, whether it’s soft window treatments, window blinds or shades, upholstery services or interior design services for both residential and commercial purposes.
Founded by ASID member Therese Kish, who has more than 20 years’ experience as a designer—the team is adept at orchestrating window fashions. They bring a host of fabric samples to the client’s home. And working with Graber, one of the best custom blind and shade manufacturers in the industry, they offer soup-to-nuts solutions for privacy, light control and energy efficiency. These high-tech products come with all the bells and whistles you’d expect, including motorization and automatization.
It all Begins with the Consultation
Are the client’s tastes traditional, transitional, contemporary? The designers come up with looks to fit clients’ lifestyle and unique personality, whether it’s lavish or utilitarian. With each job, they educate clients about the fabrication process, with talented seamstresses using premium fabrics and materials.
The final luxurious look is where the difference between custom and ready-made comes into play.
Drapes and blinds they create include:
• custom panels
• valances and cornices
• swags and jabots
• tab top and shirred curtains
• traversing drapery
• pinch pleated drapery
• wood blinds
• vertical blinds
• roman shades
• roller shades
• solar shades
• mini blinds
• shutters and plantation shutters
• cellular shades
• pleated shades
In addition to window treatments, the design team also works wonders transforming living spaces. They consult with furniture selection and room configuration, lighting selection, and choosing new flooring or wall colors, avoiding costly mistakes. Upholstery is its own special niche. They also possess the skills to select the best fabric for everything from an heirloom sofa to booths in a restaurant.
