Few things make holiday entertaining more satisfying than being able to show off a spectacular new kitchen. Although it’s nearly autumn, there is still some time to upgrade from your dated, humdrum cabinetry before friends and family start to show up for eggnog and cheese balls.

They may be Schrocked by the improvement, and Building 9 can help make it happen.

The independent home improvement retailer is holding a special Schrock cabinet event at its Medina showroom, between September 16 and November 2. During that time, Building 9 is offering free upgrades on rugged, American-made Schrock cabinets.

For example, illustrates owner Shane Haumesser, you can upgrade from stained to painted doors for no additional charge—a savings of 15 percent. You also can upgrade to all-plywood construction at no additional cost—a savings of 10 percent.

“Painted doors—especially whites, grays and light blues—are the hottest trends in kitchens right now,” Shane shares. “People are going for that clean, contemporary look.”

Kitchen cabinets are the biggest selling items in Building 9’s 48,000-square-foot showroom on Medina’s Route 18, and Schrock is the featured brand.

Building 9 is holding a special Schrock cabinet event at its Medina showroom, between September 16 and November 2. During that time, the store is offering free upgrades on rugged, American-made Schrock cabinets.

“That’s because of the amazing standard features you would usually expect to find on cabinets that are a lot more expensive,” Shane offers.

Take these features, for example:

  • Three-quarter-inch dovetail drawer construction
  • Soft-close drawers and doors
  • Half-inch cabinet sides
  • Limited lifetime warranty

“One of the cool things about Schrock is they can customize dimensions at no charge,” Shane says. “For instance, if you wanted to go 15 inches deep on the wall cabinets, it’s no extra charge. If you want to reduce a base cabinet to 18 inches, it’s no charge. That’s something that used to be an upcharge of as much as $200 per cabinet.”

Along with Schrock, Building 9 also carries several budget cabinetry lines made by Aristokraft.

“We have cabinets to fit any budget,” Shane says. “We have more than 100 doors and probably more than 300 different finish combinations. Whatever style you’re looking for, you’re going to find it here.”

The first step toward getting your brand new kitchen is to bring in your dimensions and sit down with one of Building 9’s expert designers, Shane says.

“It’s really that simple,” he says. “You can just walk in and the design won’t cost you a dime.”

“We have more than 50 different selections of waterproof vinyl flooring starting at $1.99 per square foot,” Shane says. “It’s the biggest thing in flooring because it’s durable, affordable, easy to install and easy to maintain.”

The showroom’s hardware selection center contains hundreds of knobs, handles and hinges.

Building 9 partners with Chippewa Stone to provide spectacular granite and quartz countertops.

Building 9 is on Medina’s Route 18.

“You can check out samples here, but one big advantage of working with Chippewa Stone is that you can go to their yard and pick out your actual stone,” Shane says.

From cabinets to decking to floors, Building 9’s prices almost always beat the national home improvement chains by a significant margin, Shane insists.

“We’re the best kept secret in home improvement,” he says.
