We’re happy to disappoint

A patient came to me for hemorrhoid treatment recently and told me how nervous she’d been prior to her visit. “I was up all night, anxious about my procedure,” she said. “Now that it’s over, it was nothing. I can’t believe I spent all of that time worrying for no reason.”

My response was, “Well, we’re happy to disappoint.”

Treatment for hemorrhoids is not what you might expect, and stories like the one I shared above are typical. Some people have been told by their doctors that surgery for their hemorrhoids is the only option, and that it’s very, very painful. And while it is very painful, it’s certainly not the only option.

Others have a fear of the exam or treatment itself, their unease at feeling vulnerable and having no idea what to expect outweighing their desire to finally find relief from the pain, burning and itch of hemorrhoids.

So while I’m thrilled to provide virtually pain-free treatment options in the comfort of my office, I’m happy to disappoint the many patients who come to me expecting a bad experience.

I offer two, non-surgical methods to treat hemorrhoids. One reduces the blood flow that feeds the hemorrhoids, improving inflammation and causing them to shrink. The other is better suited to removing larger hemorrhoids. Both take just a few seconds to do. Since they are performed in an area with no nerve endings, they can be administered right in the comfort of my office without anesthesia.

There is virtually no pain, no prep needed, there are no major restrictions, and you don’t have to take time off of work. Our procedures are also covered by insurance.
