Weeds are coming!

EverGreen Turf Solutions never cuts corners on the quality of its fertilizer. EverGreen’s five-step program regularly trumps the box company’s six- or seven-step program.

Most people probably don’t realize that letting grass clippings lie on the lawn after cutting provides up to 25 percent of its fertilization needs. So, where are you going to get the other 75 percent?

“One hundred pounds of lawn clippings can yield as much as four pounds of nitrogen, which plays a big role in nourishing your lawn,” says Correy Petz, owner of EverGreen Turf Solutions.

“But it’s not enough for your grass to survive and thrive on, and it doesn’t keep the weeds and crabgrass at bay. Only by regularly feeding your lawn a proper diet can you expect to see change. That diet consists of fertilizer applied at least five to six times a season.”

If you miss a step in the process, you can expect crabgrass in the spring, weeds in the summer and chickweed in the fall. And who you depend on to apply the nourishment your lawn needs can make all the difference.

“I had a new customer call recently and tell me he’d been with a box fertilizer company for years and his lawn still looked terrible,” Correy says.

“Sure, the truck showed up and the guy in a uniform sprayed some stuff on his lawn, but the weeds never went away. I explained to him that our five-step program is better than their six- or seven-step program. And when you compare the quality of our product against the quantity of their applications, we always come out ahead.”

So how can you be sure you’re getting the most for your money?

“We price appropriately, taking the size of your lawn and your location into consideration,” he says. “And we use the right amount and right type of product. We know people price shop, but it’s important to know that price isn’t the only factor to consider. If you aren’t getting a quality application, you’re just throwing your money away. We don’t cut corners just to be cheaper.”

Correy offers a free estimate in person or over the phone, and now is the time to give him a call so you can get your first fertilizer application in before the weeds start their annual assault.

“I’ve found that our friendly, knowledgeable, personable service really stands out,” Correy says. “And we genuinely want your lawn to look as good as you want it to. We want to be ‘the’ lawn guy, not ‘a’ lawn guy. Our goal is to have your lawn looking like the best on the block.”

“My family and I live in Medina. I grew up in Strongsville and my wife, Sarah, grew up in Brunswick. We’re very involved in the community,” Correy adds. “My customers aren’t just customers. They’re my friends and neighbors.”

Sons Jackson, 9, and Logan, 8, round out the Petz crew.

“We charge a fair price for a quality job. Period,” Correy says. “We’re not always the most expensive, and we’re not always the cheapest. We don’t offer a one-size-fits-all pricing structure and we do use the highest quality fertilizer available.”

“When you’re considering where to spend your money on fertilizer, it’s important to compare apples to apples,” Correy suggests. “Do they charge extra for things that we offer standard? Do they use a top-quality product? Is their service tailored to the customer? Are they competitive on price? Could you be paying less?”
