Feed Willoughby's Front Line
We hope everyone continues to stay healthy and safe at home. There are quite a few essential workers that we take for granted during this time, none more important than our front line medical workers. Specifically, in our own city, Lake West Hospital workers are going to war every day. As our “troops” they need to have the appropriate supplies to fight. Although we can’t help with medical supplies, we can help with what we know best, food and drink. Lake West Hospital’s cafeteria is closing early during the week and on the weekends isn’t open at all. Snack machines are also not able to be refilled. Our front line workers are putting in 12 hour shifts without food and not being able to get a cup of coffee if they want.

Last week Deanna Rowe, owner of Homestead House Bed and Breakfast, made the decision not to open for business during the shutdown. A partnership was then formed between Homestead House Bed & Breakfast, Arabica Coffee Shop (Timothy Snyder), and Hook & Hoof New American Kitchen and Cocktail (Hunter Toth and Chaz Bloom). Three to five days a week, especially on weekends, Arabica and Hook & Hoof will provide coffee and meals for the day shift and the night shift ER staff at Lake West Hospital. These supplies will be delivered by Deanna Rowe from the Homestead House Bed & Breakfast.

“We can’t do it alone and ask for the help and support of the community,” says Deanna. “We have created a GoFundMe through the City of Willoughby’s nonprofit. Visit GoFundMe.com and search “Feed Willoughby’s Front Line” or visit GoFundMe.com/f/x29eaw-feed-willoughby039s-front-line. Anything and everything helps. We got this, Willoughby! God Bless!
