At the newly opened Studio 3 Salon in Strongsville, staff members don’t just “service clients,” they “treat guests” to a heightened level of relaxation, pampering and style.

“I see us as an oasis, a lovingly curated space for people to come discover a spa menu that promises peace and rejuvenation,” says founder Rachelle Yarnell, a beauty industry veteran who has been in the national spotlight since 1992. She’s been quoted as a stylist and educator in magazines such as Elle, Launchpad and American Salon.

The full-service salon provides hair, nails, skin and massage treatments.

At the Corner of Plush and Luxe
Rachelle’s sense of style is a beguiling mix of down-to-earth cozy and sassy grandeur, somewhere between Vegas and Joanna Gaines.

You are greeted in the reception lounge with tufted silver leather seating and crystal tear-drop chandeliers. The nail department includes white lucite manicure stations and a pedi banquette of opulent ice-blue velvet and white leather with marble foot baths. It’s separated by a rustic sliding barn door.

On another wall dividing the hair and nail departments, guests can lose themselves in a mesmerizing wall sculpture of bubbling water.

At the freshly outfitted Studio 3 Salon, hair, nails, skin and massage treatments come with an elevated level of provider expertise. All team members at Rachelle Yarnell’s new location go above and beyond. Pictured (L-R): Cayla, Mikayla, Tyra, Rachelle and Crystal.

Best Fall Looks for Hair and Nails
According to the trend-watching Rachelle and her staff, this fall look for warmer colors for everyone.

“Blondes are going a little more neutral and brunettes are spicing things up with lowlights of pumpkin and auburn shades,” she says. “And the sky’s the limit in terms of fashion colors. We’re seeing lots of mermaid-y blues, greens, purples and pinks. We create an appropriate look for anyone, at any age, whether it’s a full head of bold turquoise or just a peekaboo of soft pink.”

When it comes to cuts and styles, even though blunt cuts are popular, the cut needs to be customized to the guest. Braids are still big, and, believe it or not, perms are back.

“These are not your mother’s perms,” says Rachelle. “They are more subtle and better for your hair. We’re using them in many cases to impart volume to thin hair. For people with curly hair, they can even out sections that are straight and flat.”

“Our stylists are experts in the consultation, finding out about each guest’s lifestyle and taking into account face shape and type of hair, before reaching an idea on which style will look best,” she says. “We also do hair extensions and plan on offering wigs for guests who might be going through hair thinning or loss.”

“Freeing, Like a Vacation”

With nails, guests are opting for muted shades of blues and grays, joining classic reds and nudes.

“With hair and nails, I think everyone just wants something different—an escape that’s freeing like a vacation—and uniquely theirs,” says Rachelle.

On the spa side of Studio 3, the team offers facials and massages, both regular and hot stone.

For folks waiting between services, or groups who’d like to book it for parties, the central lounge area offers a glamorous and funky respite to hang out.
