Q: I’m a teacher and a mom with two children and we’re already starting to think about our back-to-school plan. Any advice on stylish but comfy brands of shoes for me and my kids?

A: I have a feeling that our Lucky Shoes team members will be answering this question many times during the next month or two, and we’re stocked with a huge range of styles and sizes fit for students and teachers.

Here are a few of my favorite school-inspired brands this season.

Tsukihoshi is a children’s brand with shoes that have an antibacterial outsole and are machine washable. (Yes, really.) Tsukihoshi shoes also focus on comfort with light, flexible soles and a unique wide toe box.

Stride Rite Made to Play shoes are 100 percent machine washable (again, really) and come in a large array of different styles and sizes—including infants. The memory foam styles offer extra comfort for children so they can be comfortable all day.

We also have you covered if your kids need traditional school shoes. Hush Puppies and Sperry, two of our most popular brands, offer several uniform friendly styles, all with the brands’ celebrated materials, shoe construction and foot support.

The Hush Puppies Reese, for instance, is a classic Mary Jane style for girls.

Or, for boys, opt for a classic boat shoe, the Sperry Authentic Original.

Lucky Shoes also offers several brands popular with local teachers. The Vionic Minna, a super chic style, is a fashion-forward but supportive option for educators who are constantly on their feet.

Alegria is another favorite among educators. With the classic arch support and rocker bottom, these styles are perfect for all-day, casual wear.

Whether you are a student or a teacher, Lucky Shoes scores high marks for back-to-school footwear.
