Summa Health Cancer Institute, in partnership with Schalmo Homes and local area businesses, has announced Building on Hope – The Summa Health Dream House Raffle to benefit community cancer support services. Purchase a ticket and you’re entered for a chance to win a custom-built, $318,000 dream home, courtesy of Schalmo Homes, or $100,000 cash.

“As a driving force for cancer support and funding, the Summa Health Dream House Raffle aims to raise awareness of Summa Health Cancer Institute and generate funds to benefit supportive cancer care services in our community,” said Dr. Gil Padula, system medical director for the Summa Health Cancer Institute.

“This is an incredible opportunity for both supporting vitally important cancer services while also providing a nice chance to win a beautiful new home.”

All net proceeds benefit Summa Health Cancer Institute and select community partners who work to advance cancer care and provide hope and healing to individuals and families touched by cancer, including the Stephen A. Comunale, Jr. Family Cancer Foundation and Stewart’s Caring Place.

Traci Peltz, wife of Schalmo Homes’ Ed Peltz, is a cancer survivor who underwent treatment at Summa Health Barberton Campus. She is also the inspiration for the Summa Health Dream House Raffle.

Ed was so grateful for the exceptional care and unparalleled treatment she received that he wanted to find a way to help other cancer patients and their families. Inspired by Traci’s story of strength and perseverance, Schalmo Homes was moved to donate the custom-built dream home for the opportunity to help others.

“Cancer touches all our lives in some way, shape, or form,” said Ed Peltz. “Regardless of how cancer affects you, there remains a common thread among us all…we are united together to continue building on hope for a brighter future with fewer diagnoses and more success stories.”

Ticket sales began June 22 and cost $100 per ticket. Only 5,000 tickets will be sold.
