When you’re looking for high-quality concrete protection, look no further than Perfect Power Wash.

When I was thirteen, my older brother played a prank on me that, looking back, was pretty funny.

He had just gotten his driver’s license, and he was taking me to basketball practice when he pulled into an auto parts store parking lot. He asked me to run inside and see if they had any “winter air” for his tires, as he thought they were running out of summer air. Not knowing any better, I ran right inside asking the first salesperson I saw for this “winter air.” He paused, smirked, and then started into a full belly laugh. It was at that point I knew I’d been had.

Good one, brother. I ended up paying him back for that, but that’s a story for another day.

One thing that’s not funny about that “winter air” is the irreparable damage that the imminent deluge of freezing temperatures, sleet and snow will inflict on the concrete surfaces of your home.

We recently visited the headquarters of locally owned Perfect Power Wash to discuss what this colder weather means to the residents of Northeast Ohio. Owner Mike Palubiak was kind enough to give us a tour of the facility, as well as explain how critical this time of year is for local homeowners.

Mimi: Mike, tell us a bit about what’s been happening at Perfect Power Wash.
Mike: We’re in the thick of what we call “concrete season.” Just like folks rush to get their homes cleaned up in the spring, we see that same type of rush on concrete surfaces during the fall and early winter.

See, concrete is like a sponge. When water gets inside, it freezes and expands by nine percent, causing irreversible damage to your concrete—cracking, chipping, spalling and pitting are soon to follow.

Our Concrete Wash & Seal service not only makes your concrete look great by eliminating dirt and other contaminants, we protect your concrete with a premium, penetrating siloxane sealer. We purchase our sealer directly from the manufacturer, and it’s specially formulated to our unmatched specifications. We liberally and correctly apply the sealer based on our manufacturers’ recommendations, which gives the best end result for our customers.

We thoroughly test every batch to make sure it meets our stringent standards of excellence. When Perfect Power Wash cleans and seals your driveway, you’re getting the highest quality sealant at an unbeatable value—since we buy in such large quantity.

It’s extremely important to me that homeowners take this as seriously as we do. We’ve seen the expensive damage that neglect can cause. It’s imperative that homeowners call us now, before there’s a foot of snow on the ground. We want to make sure your $20,000 to $30,000 driveway is cleaned and protected to prevent damage.

Mimi: Wait, what happens when there’s a foot of snow on the ground?
Mike: Simple; once the snow gets that deep, we simply can’t perform our service. There are always folks contacting us when there’s a large amount on the ground. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, they waited until it was too late. Sadly, those folks have to go through the entire winter with their concrete unprotected, leaving those surfaces extremely prone to cracking, chipping, pitting and spalling.

I don’t want to get those calls this year. For that reason, we’ve permanently added more service vehicles to our fleet and in-field staff in preparation of the cold weather rush. We’re set up to be able to complete every service quickly and efficiently.

Mimi: That’s a substantial commitment. Other than operational efficiency, what makes Perfect Power Wash the right choice for concrete protection?
Mike: Well, there’s only one Perfect Power Wash. ‘Accept no imitations,’ as they say. Every job is completed by a uniformed Perfect Power Wash full-time employee who’s received hundreds of hours of training, and arrives in a shiny Perfect Power Wash truck with over $50,000 worth of power washing equipment inside.

No off-the-shelf equipment; all top-grade. We don’t subcontract. We’re licensed and carry four million dollars of insurance. We have literally hundreds of 5-star reviews on Google and Facebook, we’ve received the Super Service Award from Angie’s List, and have an A+ rating with the BBB.

We’ve been in business locally for over seventeen years. Our entire organization is laser focused on perfection in service, timeliness, and 100% customer satisfaction. Our customers are at the center of everything we do.

Steve Jobs, someone our leadership team talks about often, said,

“Do not try to do everything. Do one thing well.”

In that vein, we do one thing really well; Power Washing—it’s all we do.

Mimi: What do your customers say about you?
Mike: I personally read and respond to each and every review that our clients leave us. A recent one stands out to me that really embodies everything we strive for as a local business:

“Perfect Power Wash is an appropriate name for this business. They arrived on-time and the driveway was washed and sealed beautifully. The driveway looks new again and we could not be happier with the price and service PPW provided. I will highly recommend them to those who ask (even those that don’t)!!!” –Jeffery via Google
