Ohio Gold & Coins explains why the time to cash in is now

The price of gold is hitting an all-time high. Now might be the perfect time to cash in, say Clint and Cara Reider, owners of Ohio Gold & Coins in Painesville. “We can take your old, broken, or never-worn jewelry off your hands and put some, or maybe a lot, of cash into them,” says Clint.

A big part of Clint and Cara’s business, and maybe the part they enjoy the most, is hearing the stories behind the items that people bring in to sell.
“The truth is, it’s not always positive memories attached to things we hold onto,” says Clint. “People often come in ready to finally get rid of a wedding ring after a divorce, or something that has a negative memory attached to it. It’s time to start fresh, take that money and do something positive for yourself.”
Ohio Gold & Coins not only buys gold, silver, coins and small collectibles, they also have a variety of jewelry and coins in the shop.
“We encourage anyone to call us or drop in,” says Clint. “We’ll try and give you an estimate over the phone if it’s a specific description, or you can simply bring something in. We’ll make you an offer and you leave with your cash. It’s as simple as that.”
People often have jewelry or coins and don’t know their worth, so they stick them in a drawer to collect dust.
“We love it when someone comes in and says, ‘I got this from my grandfather and forgot all about it, is it worth anything?’” says Clint. “When we tell them it’s worth much more than they ever expected, they’re thrilled.”
Clint and Cara pride themselves on paying the highest percentages in Ohio. Don’t know if your coins are silver or not? Any coin that is 10 cents and higher and is dated 1964 and earlier is 90% silver. This includes, dimes, quarters and half dollars. Half dollars are 40% silver from 1965-1969. Nickels were only silver from 1942-1945 and must have a P, D, S mintmark on the back.
“Gold and silver prices fluctuate daily,” says Clint. “We weigh your items and make you an offer based on a percentage of that worth. You are under no obligation to accept. What have you got to lose?”

Ohio Gold & Coins also does jewelry repair and redesign if you’d like to keep what you have but want to update the look.
“We work with a retired jeweler who is remarkably talented and loves nothing more than working with our customers to redesign or simply fix an old broken piece to give it new life,” says Clint. “It makes people so happy to move on either by selling old items for cash to do something special, or to repair something broken. And it makes us happy to be a part of that.”
