Given the choice, nobody is really going to opt for surgery over a non-invasive procedure to look younger.

With the introduction of Vivace RF fractional microneedling to her practice, Dr. Laurel Matthews, of Dr. Laurel’s PRP Bar, once again widens the gap between age-defying surgical procedures and those that offer remarkable results in a non-surgical environment.

“Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin by creating tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin,” explains the board certified aesthetic medicine expert.

“Vivace takes that procedure a step further by adding the benefits of PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and radiofrequency, which tightens the skin at highly precise, deeper layers of the skin.”

The Vivace Microneedling RF can penetrate the skin up to 3.5 millimeters, something no other device can do. There is virtually no pain and no downtime.

“Rather than drag across the skin like some microneedling treatments, Vivace’s robotically controlled, gold-tipped needles operate in a punch movement to create channels that remain open for four to six hours,” Dr. Laurel explains.

“I apply PRP to the skin, which fills the channels, so maximum results can be achieved.”

Vivace Microneedling RF essentially offers four treatments for one affordable price—the benefits of microneedling, radio frequency to tighten, LED light to rejuvenate, and PRP to generate collagen.

“For best results, a series of three treatments is recommended,” she notes. “My patients are reporting a remarkable change in their skin after just one treatment. After two treatments, people are asking what they’ve had done. After the third, results are similar to those of an ablative laser.”

In addition to tightening skin and reducing wrinkles, Vivace is ideal for eliminating acne scars and stretch marks. Most patients see an immediate difference in the look and feel of their skin, but because PRP takes up to three months to do its regenerative job and produce collagen, maximum benefits are enjoyed after 90 days.

Dr. Laurel does a blood draw and then spins the platelets out of your blood right there in the office. She does one pass with the Vivace over clean skin, then applies the PRP and does a second pass. If you have acne prone skin, she switches to the blue RF mode to kill bacteria and prevent new breakouts. For aging skin, the red RF mode is used.
