Few people understand the level of pride and accomplishment that comes with bringing an automobile to a flawless state of gleaming glory.

Luckily for local car enthusiasts, Shawn Medina is one of those few. Earlier this month he opened Next Level Auto Detailing in Broadview Heights, returning to the city where he began the business in 2011.

“I’m thrilled to be back,” he says. “There are lots of clients here in town who have been with me for years. They appreciate the high-end care that I provide for their luxury vehicles and providing advanced paint coatings to keep the finish looking like it just drove out of the factory. I feel the same passion they do about automobiles.”

He deep-cleaned and painted the 2,800-square-foot space, creating an accent wall in fire-engine red, about the same shade as his first car, a 1986 Mustang GT.

Shawn was very involved in the community when his shop was here before, running a booth at Home Days and managing the Cruise-In portion of Nights in the Heights, and plans to re-engage now that he’s back.

Polished to a Luminous Shine
His premium detailing services begin with a gentle hand wash and finishing with blow-drying, waxing, tire dressing, and complete cleaning of the interior, from leather seats to windows and carpet.

A variety of packages range from an Express Detail for $99 to a Full Detail for $299, as well as ceramic coatings and paint correction services.

After machine-polishing your car, Shawn recommends going the extra mile and protecting its finish.

“Each car requires a distinct method of preparation before applying the protective coating in order to achieve optimal results,” he says. “It protects your car from rock chips and road debris, as well as harsh road salt, that might mar the finish.”

In addition to protective coatings, Shawn also offers corrective paint services, specialty wheels and window tinting.

Destination Man Cave
“I get to know most of my clients by bonding over our cars,” says Shawn. “We are a community of sorts. So, I thought it would be fun to create a man cave feeling in the new shop. I’d like my clients to feel like they can kick back and stay awhile.”

He hung large flatscreens on the walls, set up a bar area and will have a slot car racetrack for visitors to play with. Also part of the new shop is a retail area featuring maintenance products for car owners to keep their vehicle looking gorgeous inside and out between detail jobs.

As a natural extension of his business, along with his brother, Joey, Shawn has set up a Facebook page—VehicleBros—to advertise cars for sale, as well as post fun car-related activities.

“May and June are two of my busiest months, as clients are excited to finally take their cars for rides in the nicer weather,” says Shawn, who mentions his June is already getting booked.
